Many people would like to know ;)
Grarak's TWRP frozen when I was trying fastboot boot it. This one fastboot booted. I did nandroid of stock recovery (linked in my earlier post) and nandroid of full stock system, boot, data and cache. I noticed e don't have vendor partition on OP3 like I have on Nexus 6P.

No problem. Let me know if restoring it in TWRP works and if it successfully replaces TWRP after rebooting recovery.
Same thing happened to me that's why i couldn't back up stock recovery when using Grarak's twrp but still managed to back up stock rom. Still in work so can't test it yet. I'll give you an update later on. Again massive thanks! All the best ;)

Yes, and there should be an option in Android Settings
A question: wouldn't ROM re-encrypt the data immediately? I've done some research on these things and it seems like every time someone posted custom kernel that would people need to flash to get rid of the encryption.

Or is this only the case on Nexus phones?

It's up to the rom itself
decryption here just means decrypt for TWRP itself to access to those encrypted partitions

i don't get this install, do i create a recovery folder and flash it from restore, it does not allow me to select recovery partition, can u just pull the .img file via sideload?
Is a TWRP nandroid backup of stock recovery. You should be able to restore it using TWRP. Copy the whole folder I linked to /TWRP/backups/your phone serial number/
No guarantee it is going to work, I never tried to restore somebody else recovery backup, I'm not sure if it is linked to device serial number or not. Just give it a try.

Did you fastboot TWRP and restored my files using the the restore function?
I'm glad it worked out for you.

I flashed the OP3 3.1.3 in TWRP without problems.
