I just got a brand new ouya, and its got the newest update installed (the os doesn't boot without forcing you to go online + make account). Since i'm on the newest firmware, i cannot get the ouya to talk via adb at all, even just doing a adb devices does not work. I disabled driver signing, the ouya has no exclamation mark, and i have ADB device listed under device manager. Running windows 8.1, tried usb 2.0 and 3.0 ports, nothing.

Did the ouya people do something for adb to stop working properly? And does this still work on the newest firmware? Thanks.

Mine is also on the new firmware. I am able to get adb to work and it pushes recovery but never boots to it. The device will reboot but it reboots to the stock recovery, not the custom one. I've spent about 15 hours on this and have tried many ways over and over but I can't get it to work. I think those of us who waited are screwed.

Ive tried everything possible and i cannot get the ouya to show up under adb devices. It just refuses to work. I followed all instructions and have been trying for a few days now, and everything is setup perfectly, i removed all other devices and installed the usb driver from this package cleanly, it shows up under Android Composite ADB Interface, it just refuses to work, nothing shows up under adb devices. I really want to start messing with this thing, but not till i get a recovery on there to make sure i have a fallback in case i mess something up. Can anyone help? Running windows 8.1.

@Prack...Theres a easier way to flash cwm recovery than this method, this method didnt work for my OUYA neither , it would not flash the custom recovery, here is the link to the tool that i used and it worked perfect, you may need to run it twice since sometimes it won't flash on the first try but it does on the second or 3rd time, when you run it at first is going to give you a warning/error about not being able to install the driver, just ignore the error, http://ouyaforum.com/showthread.php?5159-OUYA-One-Click-CWM-Recovery

I got clockwork mod installed. I had to turn on adb wireless, connect that way, and finally was able to see the device. Then i did adb reboot bootloader, and it installed fastboot driver. Then i was able to boot into a clockworkmod img from fastboot and installed clockwork from inside of there.

This also happened to me once before, all I had to do was turn off adb wireless in order for my PC to adb my OUYA, having wireless adb ON interferes with wired adb so it needs to be off...

That was not the case for me. IVe been hacking android devices since the launch of the Droid 1, im very familiar with how to do these things, this was one of the most frustrating android devices to deal with. Its all finished now tho, i have Failsafe bootloader installed, newest clockworkmod installed and CM11 + gapps installed. Its ready to rock.

I hear you, I'm very familiar with android hacking and Modding my self and I can confirm that the OUYA is a very frustrating and confusing device to work with, this OUYA can make even someone like me that I've been doing this since the fist, real, original android touchscreen device ever launched(HTC G1) feel like a noob...:D

Finally booted back into CWM Recovery...

1. Connect a USB keyboard to your OUYA.
2. Turn your OUYA on.
3. Press and hold ALT + PRINT + I (NOT L)
4. Keep pressing the I button for 2 seconds so that the screen flickers for about 4-6 times until your OUYA reboots.
5. When it reboots you will see a red exclamation mark and U. Now hit your home key button on the USB keyboard and you are now in recovery mode.

Flash new recovery and than OUYA boot menu. You can select recovery before boot.

Not helpful one bit at all, I don't have a computer at hand and you're sending direct to a Google Drive access point.

I just need the zip file.

SO I have read this thread in its entirety and I have to think that something has changed. up until 3 days ago my ouya was working great, i had play store working and xbmc and life was good.

then 2 days ago i booted it up and to my surprise somehow and OTA update pushed passed modcollections disable updates and screwed everything up!

I have tried updating apps.... no avail
I have tried factory reset and starting from scratch and **** just still isnt working.... i have been at this for 2 complete days now and i am on the cusp of throwing this tiny little stock useless box out of my highrise!

I can install root my ouya and root it
i can install xposed 2.5.1 no problems
Busybox is fine as well
Modcollection installs however its useless as it allowed ota to push passed it and it no longer installs a working version of play store
i also can no onger get cwm to install or function, not with mod collection, not with oneclick auto or manual methods.

so I am hoping that someone has some good news as to how i can go about in a relatively simple manner to get this thing back to where i want it (xbmc and google play)

thanks in advance
