Updated flashable zip of the 298 Stock ROM can be found here http://invisiblek.org/ouya/UnofficialCWM_RC-OUYA-1.0.298-r1_ota.zip

Also, attached to this post is a CWM flashable zip of the Ouya Stock 298 Recovery image. Flash this if you get stuck in an update loop. This will overwrite CWM.

I'll probably be out of commission for the rest of the night.
Thank you for your effort! :highfive: Did anyone test this already?
Just to be sure, if I install this using CWM recovery, I only need to re-install superuser and busybox? Everything else will be left untouched?

Before flashing anything, could you go into advanced settings (the menu that looks like regular android settings), choose the ouya account and uncheck the update check box. This might turn off auto updates. Doing a reboot would tell us whether or not auto updates are killed.

Yeah, if you flash the ROM, it will leave CWM in tact and keep your apps. You would have to manually install su and run the busybox install.

If you run into an update loop, you can flash the stock recovery in cwm (overwriting cwm), boot back into android, run the update, and you'll be on the latest version.

Hi , I am having some trouble try to CWM working . I have Super user and busy box installed , but when I try to run the one click script at the very end where I should be in recovery the screen pops up with a red exclamation point . I will keeping trying to get it to install. Any help would be great . Thanks and cheers..

To add some more info .

after I start the script the first line pops up as

Adding Ouya usb vendor id for adb .. followed by..

Access is denied..... but the script keeps running and pushing the recovery img and backing up stock recovery and writing new recovery and says rebooting into recovery and that I should be in recovery but all I get is OUYA in white letters with a red exclamation mark underneath ..

What OS (Windows, OSX, Linux)?

It sounds like dd wasn't able to overwrite the stock recovery. Please post a pastebin of the output and specify what version of the Ouya software (i.e.264, 298) you are running (I believe it can be found in system info in the manage section).

Hi I have a quick question, how can I check that an update flashed the stock recovery, I am looking to get back on the stock one for the time being.

I flashed the latest official update and them CWM asked if I want to stop the update from flashing the stock recovery I said 'No' now when I use ADB reboot recovery I just get a black screen. I assume this means I am back at stock?

I did a factory reset and tried again with another laptop this one running windows 7 ..same issues during the install .. after adb list the device and opens the port and the script starts to push the files each time it states Device id unknown. ..access denied. ..all the way through to the end. ..and the I get the screen that says OUYA in white letters and a red exclamation mark underneath.

Sorry to be MIA, I'm just super busy and family and work come before play. If you open up the script in a text editor, you can try running the commands one at a time to see what the culprit is.

That's the entire purpose of CWM. Why don't you do some research on your own?

So I missed something, are you saying I can flash CWM and still keep the official rom updates from Ouya atm with the provided zips everyone is posting here? Wouldnt mind trying it then... Still wondering if I root it if I lose the ouya store etc.

How hard did you try? Do you read this forum or just treat it like a help desk? I didn't even need to search.

You can flash CWM and still take the official OTAs. You don't lose the ouya store.

yeah I found that page actually linked through another site I guess I must of been using a wrong keyword but anyways I must be installing the cwm recocery wrong somehow cause I think im in the default recovery. I tried downgrading the firmware it loads but gives me an error message. How exactly do I know what recovery im in?Im using windows 7 and the ouya is recognized as a andoid adb composite device, I just used the oneclick bat operation when installing.
