That looks as if twrp didn't like one of your boot partitions...
I guess you can dd boot_a to boot_b and retry.
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p38 of=/sdcard/boot.img
fastboot flash boot_b boot.img
before "clean" instalation new rom:
Wipe > Advanced Wipe > Dalvik Cache/ART, System, Cache i Data
Factory Reset, then Format data / factory reset
Does the order matter?
Is it worth to use TWRP prompted by dalvik after installation?
The Reload Theme option from the TWRP Advanced menu is reversible? I would like to get rid of all Sony add-ons ; Sony theme and info about "checked for corruption".
After installing LoS 17.1, "Recovery by LoS" jumped in place of TWRP. I didn't even use the recovery image file:
Can I upload TWRP again and the system will not fall apart?
What does the triangle with the letter F on the first page Recovery loS, mean?
Team Win Recovery Project 3.x, or twrp3 for short, is a custom recovery built with ease of use and customization in mind. Its a fully touch driven user interface no more volume rocker or power buttons to mash. The GUI is also fully XML driven and completely theme-able. You can change just about every aspect of the look and feel.

[RECOVERY][pioneer] TWRP Touch Recovery [OFFICIAL], ROM for the Sony XA2 Ultra
ROM OS Version: 8.x Oreo
Last Updated 2020-06-25
I cannot install or even boot the twrp on pixel experience plus rom for pioneer
As to my knowledge recoviers are independent of the rom installed so I think it's a bug or problem in twrp
Whatever I do let it be
fastboot boot twrp.img
It doesn't boot
It goes to twrp first screen where it shows twrp logo and the version which is before the encryption (doesn't work even when there is no lockscreen set)and doesn't go ahead.
fastboot flash boot
still same result
Even flashed the zip file through pe recovery
Nothing showed me some ahead than that screen
I tried everything didn't work
on other rom it works fine
Don't know what is specific for this rom
Please help me sir I want your help with booting twrp
Thank u sir I hope you listen to me
It'd need a lot of effort for me to make it work since sodp based builds are using different kind of encryption...and frankly I couldn't really be bothered to care about that.
( unless i figure out how to skip enc based on /boot kernel version in reasonable time )
fastboot boot this: https://f.kremowka.xyz/get/fda815ad-4f2f-4e11-b7d6-fd665702ff28, if it works that's cool if it doesn't then I don't feel like trying harder.
You can't back them up, you don't really need them though. The camera works fine without them on tue XA2
Google Pay works as long as Xposed isn't installed which would be the case given the firmware you've updated to.Wait what. I've held off on rooting until the kinks get worked out. That and I haven't ever done it with a Sony device before. My understanding is that Sony DRM can be lost forever if not done correctly. What exact functionality would I lose?
So how would I go about keeping (saving for later) the drm if possible? I'm assuming unlocking bootloader, twrp, rooting and installing xposed is normal.
I just don't want to mess up to the point of no return. Sony drm, tremble, a/b system and google pay are anomalies I haven't dealt with before. My device is the XA2 Ultra H3223 on build 50.1.A.5.59 (latest), which means I should hold off on xposed . It automatically updated on me.
1. Fastboot boot boots as your current slot@LuK1337
How does it work then, since it's an a/b device (first for Sony) i mean will twrp be booted in slot _b or how? And the Same fastboot flash, will it also flash to slot _b, meaning the inbuilt Sony recovery won't be touched (vol- + power on bootup)
Anyway interesting, I will try it on my spare H4313
BTW the xposed issue is related to March sec patch https://github.com/rovo89/Xposed/issues/339
