The kingoapp worked like a charm with the latest stock rom I've downloaded from samfirmware: I9192UBUCNG2 (it's android v.4.4.2).
Rooted, without battery drain nor wifi problems.

Thanks guys!

Take it easy, just flash the stock kernel of your rom or use a custom rom from xda

I think amestris kernel is built on mk4
its in the attachments. just flash it in recovery
i think you know you voided your warranty

Well of course you bricked the phone this is an outdated guide for 4.2.2

Try to boot in download (odin) mode and flask an original kk kernel, I think there's a custom one by silvuimik in developers sectiction

Well if its bricked, can you access your recovery or downloading mode??? if yes then simply download a stock version of the 4.2.2 version and flash it using Odin ... You should be fine ....

Sent from my GT-I9192 using XDA Free mobile app

Hi,

today I've tried to root my new S4 Mini Dual-SIM and after hours and lot reboots I've found a methode how it works for any installed kernel!

I've not used the files in this post but from the XDA-Developer arco68 and modified this a little with current versions.
So, I've packed all tools you need in a zip-file, a how-to and solutions for recurring problems during the root-process in german and english too.

Also I've describes a solution for the KNOX-problem. Here you have to use the adb shell terminal-windows. (is describes how.)

The package contains:
- Odin v3.09
- S4Mini-RootKit v3
- CWM v6.0.4.4
- ADB Toolkit

Now, here's a short overview about the root-steps:

Code:
1) copy the "S4Mini_RootKit_v3.zip" from folder-"02" to your SD-card

2) turn off your phone

3) press this combination: HOME + VOLUME DOWN + POWER
The screen should show you the download-mode

4) connect your phone with PC and agree with button: VOLUME UP

5) Start the Odin-Flash-Tool; remove hook on "F. Reset Time" and press
    the "AP"-button.

6) pick the file "recovery-clockwork-6.0.4.4-serranodsub.tar.md5" from
folder-"03" into "AD" and press the start-button.
The phone will reset after flash.

7) after the reset (the phone is vibrating) IMMADIATE press the buttons
HOME + VOLUME UP to boot into the Recovery-mode

8) Chose "install ZIP-file" --> the copied zip-file from pt.1!

9) after installation of RootKit, the phone restarts itself.

10) Enjoy your rooted phone.
Ok.
Than have fun with your new rooted phone!

I have the GT-I9192 with I9192XXUBNB1 baseband and have rooted with Kingo as saferoot did not work.
Unfortunately Kingo did trigger the Knox flag. Beware...

I'm not bothered though. I'm happy to be able to have the Titanium Backup app to freeze alot of the bloatware.

Hello, I have the same phone bro! can you please tell me the steps with kingo? I've tried it, it puts me in downloading mode for 20mn, then I was afraid to brick my phone, I removed the battery, and the normal phone mode came back.

Thank you bro

Wont load after rooting

So I followed the steps and loaded recovery clockwork 6.0.5.2 using odin 3.0.9 all seemed to work until I reboot and the device shows "set warranty bit Kernel" and reboots. Any suggestions?

You have just tripped Knox voiding your warranty, buy nothing else just ignore the notification.

Why it reboot I don't really know, this is a really outdated guide for jellybean, try flashing rootkit v3 by scrabledo wiping cache and reboot, if don't work flash your ROM original kernel or custom one for your rom.

Newbie here!!!

Hi guys,

I'm From Bangladesh :) and I've recently bought a GT-I9192. the info of my phone i get from *#1234# is in the attached screenshot.
I'm not totally new in the rooting thing. i just want to root my device to use titanium backup while being as close to stock as possible. And also my device is from Saudi Arabia. I still Have almost 8 months of warranty.

As i heard, tripping KNOX disables the warranty. so, can this method be used without tripping KNOX? if no, then can you guys guide me?

Thanks In Advance,
Tanzim :cowboy:

thanks guys :D

Thanks guys :D
Well, I decided to go hell with it :3

I tripped KNOX. So what?. My phone was an Saudi Arabian version GT-I9192. I was not going to get that warranty anyways :/ . so, I rooted. And as for official updates, I installed closed and then installed wanam xposed and changed the device status to official. Updates are working again (I think as it does not show the device modified error). Can anybody confirm this?

Also, I debloated my stock ROM and installed Xposed framework and then Wanam Xposed. As I've been testing my battery life for two days, I've found out that, I can go 3 and a half days with out charging!!! That's great Cz I had about one day battery life before with Wi-Fi on 24/7 and power saving turned off. Also lots and lots of Phone calls and texts.

Thanks guys for your help and support.

i tried wanam Xposed. it only changes system status to official. Binary status still remains custom not official. Ota software updates are not working on my phone. it says software are upto date. i am using 4.2.2 and there is 4.4.2 available.
