Are you installing from odin? I just used the goomanager.apk and installed twrp from that. When you open it up press the menu button and choose install open recovery script. It will download and install it. No need for odin

Yes,

That is what happened at first. But I did get an "FAIL" using TWRP. I have to wait for my next day off to work with it.

A lot of people seem to have trouble with the newest version of twrp. Not your issue in particular, but maybe this will help. This is a link to a post with an older version of twrp that many like. Grab the 2.5 version. Flash that in recovery, and then try flashing the shabby recovery you want. Not sure if it will work, but you never know.

Try the way I mentioned above. I didn't use Odin to install my recovery after I rooted. I am not very familiar with safestrap but I used 1 recovery to install this one. I'm not sure if you can install OUDHS from safestrap but it literally took 5 minutes total to install one recovery then flash this one. Also you don't need to run loki after this recovery is installed being the loki script recognizes the device is att and auto loki's it. ....Shabby's recovery is great.

TWRP 2

Hi,

Ok. I'm going to write down the order I will be doing this. So please correct me. I will check this before I flash this recovery.
The MD5 is correct.

1. Open TWRP
2. Click Install
3. Choose Open Recovery zip
4. Flash
5. Reboot

Hopefully, I will have TWRP 2. Now to install Penguin's recovery.

1. Delete TWRP 1
2. Open TWRP 2
3. Choose Penguin's zip, after verify MD5
4. Choose LOKI Kernel zip
5. Flash
6. Reboot
6. Reboot into recovery

I should see the Penguin's ICON.

I have the loki'ed recovery which will flash loki over all my installs.

Thanks everyone in advance.

Not sure what you mean about twrp 1 and 2. There is only one. Once you get into twrp click install from sdcard and find oudhs recovery then flash. No need to delete any twrp When the oudhs recovery will flash over it. When you reboot hold the vol up button along with the home button until you see the recovery. I just tried flashing cwm from safestrap and it said successful but either way my device is working and cwm is like it should be.

I think twrp 2 is the older version I posted the link for. The loki kernel zip is what's confusing me. But, I don't use safestrap, so I don't know if it requires different processes. Either way, Phoneguy's steps sound like exactly what I go through.

Major Dumb Question

No problem glad to help out!:good:
I just picked up an SGH-I337M from GCI in Alaska. Its AP & CP are MVLUAMDJ which tells me it is a Canadian phone. It was rooted and unlocked out of the box. However the CSC is I337ATTAMDB which sure smells like AT&T to me. I somehow lost recovery and with GooManager got TWRP 2.6.3.0 to run on it. It had an earlier version of TWRP originally but I didn't write that down. I did a backup and have a TAR file of that original recovery so I guess I could replace it if needed.

TWRP, to me, is like herding cats. Which variety of OUDHS would you suggest I try first to get a CWM recovery? I am a relative noobie but I imagine all I need to do is get the right OUDHS on the ext SD card and flash it.

Thanks in advance
