Hello
My phone is a THL 4000.
I've been having this issue for awhile now, and although I've done plenty of research, I've not been successful in correcting this issue.
A few months ago, I was notified of a "wireless update" that improves my phones stability and radio, if I'm not mistaken, and the download I assume should be directly from the phone's manufacturer, so it has to be genuine, and yet I still get this issue. I'm aware that it's still possible to get this error pop up even on official updates and such, and I've even tried to remove the assert in the updater-script file, but I've not had any luck at all...

I've removed the asserts and it didn't work. There isn't even an assert line at the very top, but there are two at the very bottom of the file.
Please can someone download the file and check the contents, to identify the issue with their knowledge, as I severely lack on the know-how myself...

Here is a link to the updater_script: mediafire .com/download/l6r1uqw49w9hfr3/updater-script
(link has a space between fire com)

I figured that it would be more detailed & accurate for if someone else who possess the knowledge to actually know what I need to remove, and I'd greatly appreciate if someone could guide me around this pesky issue... A few days ago, my network signal all of the sudden blacked out, and it has a red x on it now; occasionally displaying a little magnifier on the signal bars and says 'no signal', 'no service', emergency calls only' in a rotation upon every time I attempt to check on the status. I've not had signal for almost 5 days now, and it has to be my phone. My SIM worked in another phone.. I'm just hoping it's this wireless network update, and I just can't seem to correct the issue and get rid of the status 7 recovery error. My phone can't be set up with a custom rom, but it is rooted, and I have CWM on it, but it doesn't get rid of error 7. I've tried removing the assert code, but with no luck... Unlike all of the other tutorials I've come across, this notepad layout doesn't include any "assert" on the first line either. Please can someone tell me how to resolve this problem? Thanks!

Most of the time when I have seen Status 7 errors when flashing ROMs it is due to an out of date custom recovery. I'm not familiar with THL (This is a Samsung forum section) but many devices will not install an OTA update when rooted or with a custom recovery installed. I do have an Acer tablet that updated while rooted, but no custom recovery was installed. An off the top of my head guess about the lack of signal would be that your device may have corrupted the modum software when you attempted the OTA. Check your device and see if the modem version corresponds to what would coincide with the bootloader version.
