You can do it through ADB, but I have disabled ADB for "userdebug" builds. I will upload "eng" based recoveries soon for you to have ADB on recovery.

You can use ADB through recovery now. This version is mandatory to be flashed, as it has major changes in flashing mode.

*FIXED* 64GB SD Card Won't Mount in TWRP

Thanks for your work on this phone. I bought it knowing that there wasn't much development on it. Thanks to you, there is!

I was hoping that this version of TWRP would resolve the issue of my 64GB SD card not mounting, but I still can't.

Does anyone have any fixes? I tried formatting this thing 10 different ways with no luck.

i successfully flashed the recovery through odin but i cannot boot into recovery, everytime i try, the initial "samsung galaxy j5" screen appears then the screen dies, but the phone does vibrate on touch.


edit: i forgot to mention i'm on 6..0.1 (SM-J500F) if that makes any difference

TWRP won't work on android 6 unless its updated. So be patient and wait for next version.

To mention, TWRP must be updated to work on android 6.

be careful if I wrote it just for information it is not for j500 as an example of devices that are similar in that witch TWRP they do not have problems (.Yet like device tree)..

oh okay I didn't got that.. But if it works, Why would above users post the error/ not working comments. I just want to be sure bro. If TWRP works it would be worth updating after H gets update. But if it does not work then 5.1 is good for me.. .

Try it and report back! The recovery doesn't have to do anything with the OS you are running. Make sure that you have done the steps right, and you have enabled OEM unlocking on the official Samsung firmware.

Flashed via Odin. When I try to boot into recovery, the screen starts to fade away at the Samsung screen...
