Wait, I saw the compatibility of the TWRP and there was no mention of support variants E2306, so which TWRP did you installed? If this is true then yes, I go with unlock bootloader but I stuck on incompatibility of the TWRP, but look like is working, right?
You should know that all the m4 variants share the very same hardware, so all the software is common among them
Also my device was a e2306, and I tested on it so for sure it will work flawlessly on your device

I installed this version 3.2.1-0 & it's working fine but I haven't tinkered it much. For backup, restore, install/flashing & file manager, they are normal. I have used it since last year to flash root (tried both magisk and supersu) & custom kernel as well.

Sorry Guys, even if it is a Variant they had to screw it up big, Unlock Bootloade Allowed: NO.

Let me give you a big piece of advice:
DO NEVER USE THE STOCK KERNEL FOR M4!!
It is full of crap and very ancient and aosp roms won't boot it

I'm finishing to clean the stock kernel using the latest 1.2.9 caf tag, so if you really want to go the stock way, I will let you know when I'm done
Hi dany. Are you still involved in this?
Hi, I have the same problem as some others. I flashed Stock Android 6.0.1 unlocked the bootloader flashed TWRP 3.2.1-0 (compressed and uncompressed Version) seemingly sucessfull, but cannot boot into it. It just performs a normal boot.
It used to work once with some custom firmware, but it broke, so I started from scratch.

I have no experience in changing Kernels. Do you recommend one? How can I apply that then?
