anyone wanna test this one let me know if it boots.

recovery.img attached

I tried the updated recovery and still stuck at HTC Evo 4G page.
Out of desperation, tried fastboot flash and get the following error:
"Unknown partition 'recovery.img'
error: cannot determine image filename for 'recovery.img.'"

Other observations: I hear some sounds when the recovery 1st loads to HTC Evo 4G page. I heard the same noise in previous working version of twrp w/o SELinux which is some kind of sign that it's going to proceed to twrp page. But in the current recovery, it doesn't proceed further despite the sound.
@vinman12, you said that you booted up from last img. What recovery did you have previously? I have been using recovery-ra-supersonic-4.3-smelkus-aokp.img
I also decided to get a cat proc/mtd for my device. It's little bit different from you. Could this be the cause for why I can't boot up. How can I resolve this?

ok that means the kernel compiled for the kitkat rom doesnt work. i need someone to pm me a firmware.zip including boot recovery hboot etc
No need - I got a working version of TWRP built with full SELinux support present. Attached here.

Now we just need a KitKat ROM to flash! :D

Thank you so much :angel:Captain_Throwback Twrp 2.7.0.0 is working nice and smooth :) but wambo_'s blakandroid didn't boot up.
@cammykool, you were looking for wambo_'s source code. Any news?
I see Captain_Throwback is considering building Kitkat. OG Evo is reviving :highfive:

My mistake. So, no hope for Evervolv 4.0 then :(
Evervolv has a team of maintainers, which I was never on. I think you're confused.

Regarding getting an Evervolv KitKat build going, from IRC last night:
Code:
[23:34:57] <@preludedrew> CaptainThrowback, yeah it'd be ezpz
[23:35:12] <@preludedrew> I haven't done it because I don't have my evo atm.
So that's good news.

Just flashed the new TWRP. Command line says SELinux is enabled and everything seems to be working properly. You and the Captain make it happen :D

Can't wait for a working 4.4 rom. I'm in the same boat as captain throwback and using an old evo 4g for free service on freedompop and having my SMS and calls forwarded with Google Voice. Seems to be a great arrangement so far! Thanks again for supporting an old workhorse phone.

On a side note...what Rom are you using for your daily driver on your Freedompop Evo? I'm running the latest posted evervolv release which appears to be android 4.2.1. Just trying to find the most stable jellybean rom for a daily driver until kit kat is up and running.

Thanks!

I'm using Evervolv Android 4.3.1 as my main build, and I have 5.07.651.6 Stock Rooted in a Boot Manager slot if I need to update Profile/PRL.

Could you post a link to the 4.3.1 Evervolv? I believe the 4.3 builds were taken down. Great idea to use a rooted stock in boot manager to do profile updates! I'm sure there is a link floating around somewhere, but I haven't picked up my OG Evo in a while. Thanks!

I don't have a link to it. I probably found it in here somewhere though. I'm sure a search will yield results for you.

So I've been having trouble with the 11.05.2013 build with wireless data cutting in and out. This is a big problem for VoIP based calling/messaging. Do you know the daily build number for the 4.3.1 that is working well for you? They are all posted in the archive so I can go back and find it.

Thanks!
