I cant seem to figure out how to install this using a Mac running OSX. Does anybody know? I've searched everywhere!

Never mind, i found a workaround. Here is how i did it For those of you looking for a solution:

1. Root your tablet on OSX using this piece of software:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2623980
2. Download the correct TWRP version for your device(Super improtant since this method will not check if you have selected the right version of TWRP)
3. Unzip the file and copy the recovery.img to the root of your SD
3. After you rooted and you've copied the file to your SD Root, download Flashify and give it Root Permission
4. Open Flashify and select "Recovery Image"
5. Select "Select file" and look for the recovery.img in the root of your SD
6. Select flash and wait for the proces to be done
7. Select reboot to recovery and you're done!

@Drgravy I'm about to take the official US kk ota via the update tool. I'd like to get your otg 2.7 up and running on it. Do you know how I can go about manually DDing the 4.2 aboot? And does the recovery image need to be altered or can I just extract and DD that too? I Don't want to use the other threads .bat script because it changes some other elements that I don't want to change.

actually I have no idea, I haven't messed around with the OTA at all and I actually didn't plan to
using dd would probably work but just be very careful with that.
I may look into this this weekend if I have time things are getting busy

For now I used @id10terror's v2 script that flashes the 10b aboot and TWRP 2.7. I tried changing the recovery in the script to your otg one, but it wouldn't boot into recovery. There is also a weird screen dimming that happens when booting into recovery. Keep me posted if you get into it. I generally like to manually do this stuff, as adb is just fun and makes me feel smart....!

You can't just dd the recovery in the OTG it isn't loki'd yet. Why can't use just use the v2 script to go to 2.7 w/o OTG and then install the OTG.zip? I didn't examine the script but I'm surprised that replacing the img didn't work. You did remember to unplug USB?

The screen dimming happens for everyone I think.

EDIT: Ah I just read about the script in the other thread. He has a loki image you replaced it with non loki.

Yup, what @aicjofs said.. You have to use a loki'ed image (which is why I named the file recovery.lok).
Anyways, here's a loki-ed image of the USB OTG version, you should be able to just drop it in place.

Where i can find 4.2.2 aboot? Thank you!

Inviato dal mio MI 2 con Tapatalk 2
Grab the v50020 aboot TWRP zip from step 3 of the @id10terror thread here

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2698267

You can pull out the aboot and do it manually or just use the runme.bat

On a side note building TWRP with the 4.4.2 kernel gets rid of the screen dimming and non booting with USB plugged in but kills the ability to use ADB in TWRP, didn't have time to dig further. Seems like it doesn't even bring up USB interface.

That's great, and honestly with micro SD support, there is not many reasons to ever need adb in TWRP. Keep us posted...

Oh I use ADB shell al the time, annoys me to no end having to plug and unplug.

Here is a TWRP to test with 4.4.2 kernel for 10A/B aboot. It fixed the USB bootloop and dark screen for mine. OTG and ADB works, I backed up and restored, didn't try a CM/AOSP/etc kitkat to check SEpolicy.

If that's all it is then drgravy can just make the change in the official.

Install in TWRP

EDIT: Link remove. Fix is now available in drgravy build below

I actually compiled a new version for people that are on the 4.4.2 ota that @annoyingduck was testing out for me that also fixed the usb bootloop and dark screen. also had mount usb storage and usbotg working not sure about adb tho.

it seems the new ota does not play well with AOSP roms they have a weird screen dimming issue and they boot up funny so I ended up rolling back to 4.2.2 with a kdz
so I don't know . maybe I could put a separate version of TWRP in the op whether it be yours or mine
or maybe a new thread is in order

What do you guys think?

here is my build if anyone wants to try it out
