Being on stock jelly bean I rooted and flashed 2700.
Being on SlimKat 4.9 I flashed LG KitKat GB version. I want back to recovery and flashed 2701 from OP. I rebooted recovery, wiped data, system, cache and dalvik. I flashed SlimKat infected 5.0 with slim gapps.
First thing I notice is screen dimming.
Should I have flashed 2701 before fishing stock LG KitKat?
Any advice for me now to get rid of screen dimming?
Do I need to flash LG stock jelly bean back? And start from this point?

Edit Monday morning:
I flashed your zip with LG 4.2.2 from the other thread. Smooth operation, no problems. It left 2701 twrp I had (there was message about flashing recovery). I let the ROM download all my apps from play (I wiped data) and rebooted to recovery. First thing I see is that on 4.2.2 bootloader twrp boots way faster than I saw on my brief experience with LG stock 4.4.2 UK version.
So back to normal, fast loading recovery.
Second, dimming is gone.

Again, thanks a million @Drgravy!
Good, glad you figured it out
I actually built a special recovery for that LG 4.2.2 rom

Installed from a 4.2.2 base (didn't update to KitKat). flashed CM11 and it worked fine.

I have TWRP 2.7.0.0 installed, is it safe to flash 2.7.0.1? Or is that only if I have a 4.4.2 base?

I was in the same position as you, this is what I've done.

If you're on LG 4.4.2 (Stock) and want to install CM11

Root using IORoot25 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=48709232
Use Step 3 from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2698267. I was using Ubuntu, so set alias adb.exe=adb and copied each command manually.
Flash 4.2.2 base from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2762526 MAKE SURE YOU REBOOT TO RECOVERY AFTER THIS STEP.
Boot into LG's ROM, skip through the Setup Wizard and enable USB Debugging. Install using loki the recovery in the original post, use adb to reboot back into recovery and update it using the 2.7.0.0 zip.

Flash CM as normal. http://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=v500
Flash GAPPs of your choice.
Reflash 4.2.2 base.

Perhaps the OP can link to this post on the front page. You should now be on the 4.2.2 base (which CM needs) and CM11.

To restore back to LG KitKat, run LG's Update Tool from the V500 download page.

Please guys, i received this mensage after install TWRP (with loki, exploit):

Secure booting error: Device Unlock

Boot Sucess

http://oi42.tinypic.com/5n7psj.jpg

What is this ? If is ok, so how enter in recovery after this mesage (this screen) ?
I have the same problem, have reflashed through lg mobile application 3 times now, getting sick of it..

I can't seem to find a way to get any recovery on properly without getting this message. Never had such a difficult device before and yet everybody else acts like its an easy device. What am I doing wrong? everything seems to flash fine, as if I have the new recovery, but then the secure boot error happens again after trying to get into the recovery, while before the stock recovery is fine after reflash with lg mobile application.

So is there any decent instructions on how to get this recovery up and running?

And what is this bit from the OP?

If you don't have twrp on your device already
use the script from this thread scroll down to step 3 http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2698267
then flash the above build in twrp

That script gives me the error, just like any other way of flashing a recovery.

I have a stock rooted 4.4.2 gpad, who can help me, very much appreciated.

That message is also on my gpad 8.3. Recovery is installed and working properly. Don't sweat it, it's only visible for a few seconds anyways

The only way to get rid of the message is to install v510 bootloader (not recommended). It's bootloader built in check. Flashing custom recovery voids your warranty. Entering recovery takes certain combination of pressing keys. It's in the first couple of pages. Skim through them quickly and you'll find it. Once you install custom ROM you can reboot to recovery from the reboot menu. Or you can install an app that reboots to recovery.

I did finally manage to get into twrp, but now Im stuck in a bootloop getting the error 1 sec after boot and then being stuck there.
I can get tot the twrp launchscreen bij doing a factory reset with the hardware keys, but then it reboots and goes back to the error, except with a number in front of it. It was 3080, with the same error message.
Its getting annoying, just want a different rom..

Any way to get back to a functional tablet at this point? cant use the lg mobile application, cause it doesnt connect to the pc without booting.

You probably got a bad download. Try downloading the ROM and gapps again. Put them on USB otg and flash it in recovery after full wipe (everything except sdcard). Recovery worked here from day one. and I have screwed up many ROM flashed. Just remember how to get in recovery. I don't anymore as I have finally settled on a setup.

v500-TWRP_2.7.1.0-recovery.zip works with CM11-M7-device encryption, but has the issue with the screen being dim.
4.4.2-v500-TWRP_2.7.1.0-recovery.zip fixes screen dim issue, but I cannot mount encrypted data partition anymore.
TWRP shows:
Updating partition details,
Full SELinux support is present
and then nothing happens.

Do I need a newer aboot for this to work? I was on Stock 4.2.2 before installing cm11. Any advice? I am glad that with cm11-M7 the previous errors when using device encryption (no wifi, no light sensor) seem to be fixed.

EDIT:
Now I am back on Stock 4.4.2 ROM and TWRP cannot mount encrypted data partition:
4.4.2-v500-TWRP_2.7.0.1-recovery.zip -> does not accept password
4.4.2-v500-TWRP_2.7.1.0-recovery.zip -> (Updating partition details, Full SELinux support is present and then nothing happens)
