No it will not boot on recovery if you lock your booyloader. What do you mean white screen? And whats your devices?
I'm using zenfone 5 T00F. I mean, on KK, if i unlock bootloader, the Startup Screen turn to White. I'm not sure if it still remain on L 5.0.

White Startup Screen
Hi! I'm actually new to all these stuffs and I apologize if I used the wrong terminology for certain things. So, I do hope that you would forgive me for that. So, I followed this guide and the whole rooting process was sweet! Now, I can gain back my SD Card access in certain apps as well as other rooted phone benefits which I'm totally thrilled! Just wondering... After I install the Unlock Bootloader app and it successfully unlocked it, the boot screen was white instead of the black one that we usually see. Is there a way to make it back to the black boot screen we always see? Does applying the same version of updates through adb sideloading solve this problem? Does the adb sideloading get rid of the root after that? I would appreciate that I could save the root. Because, I gone all the way to unlock and relock the bootloader. Thanks!
Sorry for my bad English :D

- If i sideload rom from adb sideload, does TWRP replaced by original recovery?

I got a question.

I use TWRP to clear a cache and after it's done, i choose reboot system. The phone reboot itself but stuck with dark screen with USB logo. So i turn it off, turn on again to droidboot and choose to reboot system from droidboot. Now, the reboot process finish without any problem.

I guess this is not normal, correct?

My zenfone 5 continuously restarted after using for couple minutes. I think this problem caused by unlock bootloader. In the past, i unlocked bootloader and have same issue :(

I did factory reset, reinstall TWRP or downgrade to KK then update to L, the issue still remain. I don't know why. Or it should only work stable on T00J?
Or maybe, it depend on SKU? I'm using WW SKU:(

i don't get whats the problem my devices is a501cg and work stable for my daily use even i factory reset it doesn't affect the system

i think its more better to you to use stock if not fits for your devices
