1. Did you enable OEM unlock at Settings > Developer Options?
2. Did you flash the correct TWRP for your J5 model?

yeah i did. i think my boot loader is locked i think. how do i know if my boot loader is locked or not?
will s6-CROM.apk file unlock boot Loader on galaxy J5 (2015) with MM update ?

This TWRP is for Lollipop 5.1.1.

Can I use heimdal instead of odin to flash twrp since I do not use windows pc?I mean to use procedure like this step 7 to 11

On the computer, open a terminal in the directory where the recovery image is located and type:

heimdall flash --RECOVERY recovery.img --no-reboot
Tip: The file may not be named identically to what's in this command. If the file is wrapped in a zip or tar file, extract the file first, because heimdall isn't going to do it for you.

A blue transfer bar will appear on the device showing the recovery being transferred.
Unplug the USB cable from your device.
NOTE: Be sure to reboot into recovery immediately after having installed the custom recovery. Otherwise the custom recovery will be overwritten and the device will reboot (appearing as though your custom recovery failed to install).
Manually reboot the phone into recovery mode by performing the following. Hold Home, Volume Up & Power.
A custom recovery is installed.

I've tried before but heimdall failed to install "incompatible device", i'll try to search a solution next time, till then try using odin on a VM

I successfully installed twrp using odin on a VM ,thank you again.

Hello everyone! I have added the following options for you in the next recovery update.

Backup Options:
- Backup EFS partition. (IMEI and firmware related)
- Backup Persist partition. (Bluetooth and firmware related)
- Backup Modem partition.
- Backup Firmware partition.


Wiping Options:
- Wipe Hidden partition. (Samsung bloatware)

I'm testing these right after building them. Any other opinion is welcome!

The recovery does, the kernel and/or fstab doesn't.

You need a kernel with F2FS support and Ramdisk with F2FS mount point in fstab ?

J5 prime(sm-g570f)
Exynos 7570 chipset
Arm cortex A53 1.43GHz

Man please stop spamming in J5 threads. You have a J5 PRIME it's different from J5 or J5 (2016). I'm sorry for you but there's nothing for your phone yet.

It's because you're using a custom recovery, ignore it.
