i want to root my table5 but reading here so many fail it seems.if i flash twrp from odin then beta super su which is only root i can find do ineed flash kernal as well??

Most rooting software flashes on top of the old kernel. But if it not fully compatible it may either not work or cause errors. I have not used any rooting software. My banking apps do like rooted devices. You might want wait and see if anyone with your tablet experience answers your question.

My advise is to find the stock or upgrade rom and instructions to install it in case it does mess up your device.

Sorry for the thread bump - just a quick question. I have a T815 device with a stock Nougat (7.0) ROM on it. I'm guessing by following the instructions in the OP and flashing the correct TWRP I can then root with SuperSU right? Nothing else I need to do?

LineageOS 16.0 required TWRP 3.3 and above.

ok but if i put 3.3. i stat blocked on start with Samsung logo wihte.

i Can't go to recovery
i Can juste go in download mode :/

i have succefully install twrp 3.3 directely from twrp Android app on stock firmware.

i have installés lienageos 16 for sm-t815

at start UP i have lineage logo animation

but the tablet bootloop :/

grrrr very difficult to install this...

Los 16 is ending in a bootloop for me too... (also t815) no Chance for me to run that Rom at my device.


Now i am back und Lineage 14.1 with actual security Patch...

I must have Flashed the wrong new TWRP to my Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 810. I was trying to upgrade to 3.1.0 from 2.8.4(I think) now it hangs at the Samsung Galaxy Samsung tab S2 start. Can't reboot. It Just hangs. The combo Off button/ volume up /screen button don't do anything. Any solution?

an upgrade for my TWRP. My tablet now will not go past the initial Samsung Galaxy tab s2 powered by android screen and will not turn off.
Could I flash twrp with odin ?. Will that work or do I need to do more research, am I adding more problems?

I also have sm-t810, can't get any version of twrp to load beyond this 3.1.0-1, later versions simply won't load. I also can't get any ROM to load, but with this 3.1.0-1 recovery loads! It seems there is life in it, but I can't resurrect the tablet and have tried flashing stock, via odin, still no joy. Plus with this 3.1.0-1 twrp I get E3004: this device is . error. Not having much joy with this tablet!
