Won't mount data partition.

I just installed the new German version of Nougat and I have the same problem with it that I had with MM. TWRP won't mount the data partition so I can't flash anything in the download folder or backup to internal storage. It will backup the system and cache partitions to the external SD card but NOT the data partition.

BTW, I've already tried formatting the data partition and doing a factory reset from stock recovery. And I never encrypted the data partition.

Not sure which rom you are referring to as there is neither MM or NN officially available for this device?

im trying to flash TWRP but i get an error "recovery blocked by frp lock"

From your stock ROM:
Setting > Developer options and activate OEM unlock.
If you don't see "Devoloper options" go to Settings > About device > Software info and tap continuously on top of "Build number", you'll see a message telling that Devoloper options has been activated.

It got removed by Google due to violation of terms. Down load it from the Magisk thread.

Well, I did ened u doing that shortly after i made this post, and now im soft bricked. SO i have not one but two softbricked devices over here that i'm attempting to fix. Been going at my Z3V for about 4 days, and this galaxy all night and morning. I am literally stuck at boot and cant even turn the galaxy off.

The new TWRP flash works fine. However, the SR3-SuperSU-v2.79-SR3-20170114223742.zip and aqa4-gtexswifi-SU279sr3.img cause my tablet to hang at the Samsung Boot screen each time I reboot. The only way to get past is to boot into TWRP recovery and then choose reboot to system. I rolled back to the SR1 2.78 version and it works perfectly.
Does everyone else experience something different?

I actually had that same problem at first, but for some reason it doesn't happen (at least as often) with the latest SR3 version.

After your first install, wipe dalvik and cache.
You should boot fine, afterwards any time that I ran into that issue I simply wiped my cache, not even dalvik (unless I felt it needed it) and viola I was good to go :)

Hope yours gets worked out.

Also, for anyone who wants to see more development for this device, we need a permissive kernel first. If you can help, that'd be a great start!

I tried to flash this today and I couldnt get into recovery (it showed "RECOVERY IS NOT SEANDROID FORCEFULL") nor get into system( it kept stuck in the samsung boot logo). is there any stock fw?
I tried the:
- T280XXU0AQA4_T280BNN0API4_HOME.tar.md5
- T280XXU0AQA4_T280XAR0APH3_HOME.tar.md5
but none of them worked :(

As far as firmware, the link to sammobile I gave you before are the best routes for that. Bootloops I've been stuck at were only at the main boot screen, the Samsung animation screen I had to just leave alone until it fully loaded which did take a few good minutes. A lot of sweat during those minutes lol and you may need to wipe your device once you're able to get back to recovery, constantly flashing on top of flashing without any wipes could cramp space on partitions or overwrite data in ways that just give problems.

Fully wipe your device, flash a stock firmware from sammobile (preferably the one your device came with, make your best guess) , clear your cache and dalvik as you finish stuff up, than let it load up. Than come back to this thread and follow instructions. I hate you're having such an issue with your device, yet I feel like it shouldn't be this complicated lol

Good luck again man.

Team Win Recovery Project 3.4.0-3 for Samsung Galaxy Tab A 7.0 - SM-T280 (gtexswifi)

    Code:
    ***Disclaimer***
All flashing is done at your own risk!
While nothing from this thread should break your device,
don't come back here blaming anyone if it does!

Always backup your current ROM (and/or keep stock firmware close by) before flashing.

Big thanks to @ashyx and @jedld for the amazing work done for this device.

    Installation Instructions
    • If you don't have a custom recovery:
    - Download twrp-3.4.0-3-_mone-gtexswifi.tar
    - Reboot your tablet in download mode (power+vol-down+home) and connect it to your pc
    - Using ODIN load the downloaded file to the AP slot and press start
    - As soon the tablet start to reboot hold vol-up and home (don't let it reboot to system)
    - Now you should see TWRP-3.4.0-3

    - Download twrp-3.4.0-3-_mone-gtexswifi.img
    - Reboot into recovery mode
    - Flash the downloaded img in the recovery partition
    - Reboot the recovery, now you should see TWRP-3.4.0-3

If you require "root", just download Magisk (v18.1 as of February 2019) and flash it with twrp. You may need to install MagiskManager afterwards. No extra steps required.

    Old root instructions:

    - Reboot into recovery mode
    - Flash SuperSU
    - Flash "T280XXU0AQA4-SuperSU-v2.82-boot.img" into boot partition

    - Install MagiskManager-v4.3.3.apk
    - Done
    - Do not update Magisk and/or MagiskManager
    • Old methods:

    I've updated twrp to 3.1.0-1
Nothing major just some little changes in the device tree.. before I was using sc8830 for the board name (chip), but the actual name is SC7730SW and the platform is sc8830. This should be the definitive build until major updates in the twrp source.

    Thread updated with Magisk-v12.0.
No need to flash SuperSU with this version.
SafetyNet Passed (see 1st attached picture). :good:
If you reboot and open MagiskManager straight you'll probably get "Not rooted" error (see 2nd attached picture); just close the app, wait a bit, reopen it and everything should be ok.

@_mone just one question. Are you planning/trying to make a custom ROM also for tm-280?

    I really hope so. Thanks

Yes, I've already started.. but unfortunately I don't have much free time lately so it won't be ready soon.
