I cannot flash, that is the problem :(

I receive the error "remote: unsupported command" via adb regardless.....

I get error code 7 trying to sideload ryu-ota-opm8.190605.005-079b7ec4.zip with twrp now, trying things, but no luck....

What command are you using?

From any command in adb and in fastboot mode that is the reply, even trying the stock bat file flash method fails...

I sideloaded [LineageOS][17.1][dragon] -> 2020-07-07 and it worked! I am back in the game! lol

I need the right gapps now, and I am nearly there! :)

Why couldn't you just flash the zip in TWRP? Don't understand the need to sideload? I could see if you only had stock recovery.

What part is hard to understand? It was the only way I could access the tablet and get the file to install. I could not use adb, there was no PC connection to simply transfer files, even the google factory recovery files failed. The driver in Win 10 was flaky and half the time unrecognised device. I only had access to fastboot (which always failed), and TWRP....

What other way should I have used?

You had TWRP, why didn't you just flash the zip file in TWRP?

How was that possible? Where does the zip file appear from that is on my PC hard drive and not in the tablets internal memory? I never loaded any files to the tablet, I never expected an endless twrp bootloop from just unlocking a device and installing a new recovery. Hindsight is 20/20....

Ah I understand. You were not prepared!

I always keep a copy of the latest versions of the Rom, Gapps, Magisk, TWRP and kernel in my Download file. You should too!

Hi!

I am struggling to install TWRP on my Pixel C. I get the following:

Code:
target reported max download size of 268435456 bytes
erasing 'recovery'...
FAILED (remote: unsupported command)
finished. total time: 0.002s

Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks!

Try to run following command in adb shell ..
"fwtool vbnv write dev_boot_fastboot_full_cap 1"

In case twrp recovery or system have been already erased you might get stuck ..

Here you can get more details about this topic ..

I know - it's a real pain !

Wow this is crazy! :/

I actually own 2 Pixel C and the first one was "converted" (that is: I installed TWRP and Lineage) a while back (>1yr) and it was a breeze.
