It works fine on SM-J500G too. But I have to flash the stock firmware after flashing twrp with odin on my rooted device. My device cannot boot into system, keep booting into twrp every time I reboot from twrp menu. After flashing stock firmware and and re-flash twrp, my device can now boot into system when I choose reboot from twrp menu. Thanks for the twrp tar file.

So if I understand correctly... You restored a old backup but it didn't restore the apps. If that's the case, did it say any errors when you tried to restore
no
i have edited some system files
when i want to factory reset
it go to stock recovery

i want a custom recovery
which do factory and dont stuck or boot loop to recovery

i have used your recovery
when i try to factory reset it do factory reset but after that phone boot to recovery (not system)

Sadly I really don't know what could cause the issue. My best guess is the boot.img . Once I am at home I will send you some instructions how to flash the boot.img

OK instructions.

To flash bootimg download the stock Rom from sammobile. Then open the ZIP. Next open the ZIP inside the ZIP by removing .md5 . then take out the boot.img. once you enter twrp flash the Boot.IMG.with the flash IMG option

Hello. I know that this post is off topic, but this is the only "popular" thread for this phone and it doesn't have it's own forum yet.
@CTXz : I hope you won't get mad on me for mentioning you :D Maybe you can answer me about what I wrote below.
I got Samsung Galaxy J5 SM-J600FN yesterday. It is a nice phone for 200euros... But I experienced a problem. When I put a call in speaker mode, the person with who I'm talking won't hear me after few seconds and when I switch back to normal mode (speaker off) he can hear me. Now it started to happen in normal calls too. I did put network in 2G to consume less MB, I don't know if this might be a problem.
Anybody else experienced this? I'm wonder if it is a hardware issue or software issue.

Also, the volume buttons and power button is moving lil bit in left-right, I don't know if is a problem at all because are working. So, people who has this device, please let me know if buttons are same to you and if you experienced that call problem.
Thank you! Have a nice day! Robert.

PS: I'm sorry if my English is bad :p

Hey no i'm not mad :)

The calling issue is most likely software. It's also quite common. Try to wipe cache. If the problem presists you can make a twrp backup and install the stock rom again. Then restore the backup data etc.

The buttons are totally fine. All my Samsung phones/tablets have that. Why? Dunno.

Gonna wipe the cache now.
About buttons, you gave me that peace of kind by saying that :D I was worried that could get break soon or that I got a device with problems. At my previous phone named Galaxy S Advance the buttons were moving too but less and I have used it for 2+ years, I never checked buttons before tho.
I won't install other stock Rom yet until I'm sure that I won't break that Knox. I'm new to this Knox protection and I haven't read much about it. I already miss so many root apps from previous phone :D
May I ask you in how much time does charge your J5? Mine charged in 4-5 hours when it was powered off, I did this two times and now I think i won't repeat it again.

Thank you alot for your answer.

Since this is the most popular thread regarding J5, i'm sharing this here :D
I've made this custom rom: Stock ROM Advanced .Please read the whole thread and share it, so more people will know about it.

    -Status about CM-

Hey, some of you have been asking if a AOSP based rom will ever come out or if I will ever make one for this device. I've tried this device a few times in my hand (mostly in samsung stores etc.) and find that is actually has quite some potential. Not only design wise but performance wise. Talking about performance. It uses the SD 410 right? Luckily enough many phones, including samsung phones with the SD 410 have CM roms and we all know how much advantage there is when working with snapdragon because of it's open source contributions. However here are the circumstances I would need to even start ROM development for this device.

    1. I need to warn you that I am doing absolutely no promise here. One of my weaknesses on XDA has been that I promised too many things that would later result a fail, leaving too many users behind that were hoping for something.

    2. I will only start the project when I have time for it. Usually "I don't have time for it" sounds allot like your every day excuse when you're too lazy to do something but in this case i'm too busy with other devices at the moment (Galaxy Tab S2 and S5 mini).

    3. I would need to own the device. I've had enough experience trying to build a ROM without having the device and believe me... it's nearly impossible. Now there are following options : 1. Funding together donations so I can buy the device myself. 2. Ship me the device if you live near.
Be aware that I cannot ever guarrantee that the ROM will function bug free and stable.

So to make it clear, I am still too busy with other devices at the moment. However if i'm free, I believe a CM port will work on this device fairly well. I will notice you when I have time and maybe then we can talk again.
    5
I think, I don't need custom aosp or cm based rom for this device, maybe debloated or de-knoxed stock firmware would be nice. If someone could port and make flashable samsung music for J5, that would great. The battery life with stock firmware, the standby and screen on time just amazing.

Hello! I've made an rom like 1 week ago: Stock ROM Advanced. About Samsung music, it will come in next version :D

@Force do you have github for ur rom ? I have seen an thread that say's cm rom support up to 10 multi touch, but you need to modify the kernel. Here is it. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1384927.
Hope you or anyone can make also custom kernel for j500. Id like to make too. But i lacked in resources.

Hello! I have a github, however my rom is not built from sources, it is based on stock rom.
I didn't know that kernel can be modified to support more fingers, but it should be related to hardware.
I want to make an custom kernel as well, and I lack in knowledge too. But there are guides... :D it still hard though.

There is an github regarding cm for J5: https://github.com/Galaxy-J5 . But it haven't been updated for a while.
