Whenever i try to flash something using the recovery I either get bootloop, softbrick or a strange screen: Its on the screen when u reboot the phone and the text "Samsung Galxy J5, powered by android", just before the bootanimation, the screen get hazy with horizontal lines slowly fading in. And soon the screen is just green. I had to flash the rom through odin again. But i cant flash a single file through the recovery.
My phone is Galaxy J5lte/J500F runningon downgraded Stock rom 5.1.1

You did the required wipes before flashing, right?

Its fine now. I was on TWRP V2. Or SOMETHING. I updated it to the v3. Now i can flash zips. I have installed slim rom 6. Which rom will u recommend?

Lollipop

CM 12.1: smooth, stable (the only bug left is FM-Radio).

RR 5.1.1: same as CM 12.1, but has many customization options. Also, there is another bug: Google Play Service keep force closing when Mobile Data + GPS are on.

Touchwiz Lollipop 5.1.1 highly debloated: Consider this as a last choice. If it is highly debloated (preferably GAPPS free too), then its quite smooth and the RAM management isnt that bad. However, it is still far away compared to CM smoothness and its free ram.

Marshmallow

CM 13: better than cm12.1. I have wrote the improvements i have noticed HERE. Ive noticed these improvements on Slim6 too since is based on same Android version and same kernel, device and vendor tree. It has some bugs though, like Camera isnt working in Snapchat and Skype video call. The FM-Radio bug is present here too.

Slim6: A slim rom, based on pure AOSP which is slightly modified ( see Slim6 features) and has more free RAM than CM13. Cant say if is smoother though, since cm13 is smooth as well.

RR 6.0.1: i didnt try it and i wont, but if you are looking for many customization options, this might be a good choice for you.

please help

I attempted to flash this recovery on my SM-J500G. When it reboots, it would say RECOVERY IS NOT SEANDROID ENFORCING and Set Warranty Bit: Recovery on the top left corner, and it would stay on that screen and not boot into the system. Also, the screen would be filled with random yellow pixels. What is my problem? Please help.

That might happen because you are on marshmallow firmware. If that's the problem, you have do (re)install the lollipop one
