Hello

Is it possible to install/use root to remove the sim card restriction on a stock rom? Or do I have to install a custom rom for that?

I appreciate the help
cheers

Enable OEM Unlock in Developer options and also remove all Google accounts before proceeding to flash using ODIN. Otherwise your device will be stuck in boot loop (with Samsung boot screen).

Sent from my SM-J510GN using XDA-Developers mobile app
