No. don´t try to boot to recovery from fastboot after to flash it, don´t flash it through fastboot.

Do the next three steps and see what happens but do it exactly the same or won´t worth the try:
- In fastboot delete recovery partition by typing fastboot erase recovery
- Then reboot to recovery (don´t flash it yet) by typing fastboot boot twrp.img (rename recovery image firstly to twrp)
- Now once in TWRP flash the zip or image to the recovery partition, when you finish go to Reboot options within TWRP and choose recovery to boot to it before to boot up to system. If you boot at this instance to TWRP then the issue have to be solved, reboot normally to system.
.
Tks,
Done these exact lines, all went well, boot to system, boot to recovery, twrp recovery replaced with stock recovery.

I don't want to root my phone.

curious why the same TWRP worked fine with Global ROM 10.3.1.0.

Edit :
Finally solved the problem, it turned out I need to flash DM-Verity disabler (I used Universal DM-Verity) and rename recovery-from-boot.p file on system partition.

I didn't need to do that when my phone was on MIUI Global 10.3.1.0, weird.

Yes, I was about to say you to flash DM-Verity, probably was due to some instructions in the new update.

So, does this one work on MIUI 10.3.2? I just unlocked the bootloader (out of curiosity, it was immediate). Thanks.

EDIT:

Did not work for me on Pie MIUI 10.x, but I found this link: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1780TJvn-ZHPBtgDdNjrN8i9YRlqPy38v on this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-8-Lite/how-to/twrp-password-to-decrypt-data-partition-t3920235 .

I downloaded TWRP 3.3.0 from that link and it worked flawlessly -- although TWRP then came in Chinese. But then, I found this video to change to English: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KOhR92EKD7A

After that, TWRP installed and rebooted properly.

If you are also looking for rooting and Magisk: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-8-Lite/how-to/mi-8-lite-global-how-to-install-twrp-t3873886 (good instructions).

Do you mean TWRP 2.3.2-0330? Is your phone still encrypted (in MIUI EU can be seen in Settings - Password & Security - Privacy - Encryption & credentials) and TWRP can access data partition? What kind of Touchscreen does it show for you in Device Info HW app?

Yes, I mean the TWRP 2.3.2 on this post did not work, but the 3.3.0 linked on the other post (and copied above) did work. Then I went ahead and flashed Magisk then rooted.

I did not notice any lost or broken feature. Touchscreen is reported as NVT-ts.

Good luck!

Hola, es requerido el uso de idioma inglés para participar en el Foro, usa algún servicio de traducción.

Hi, is required english to participate in the forum, you can use some translation service.

You can follow this tutorial https://www.theandroidsoul.com/how-to-install-twrp-recovery-via-fastboot/ but I think that there are newer versions than that if some member can link it for you.

I'm a little bit confuse now...
so the TWRP I'm using (0330) can decrypt the partition WITHOUT asking me to enter my lock screen password..how is this possible? how can it know my lock screen password?
and what is the point of having encryption if with the right TWRP, anybody can access all the data ?

I'm thinking the TWRP should ask for the right lock screen password, without that all data can't be accessed...
