Backup works :good:
Firmware is ready for release - need to retool instructions, and am waiting on new charging images from our design guy - then I'll do a release thread.
This is amazing news! Even if cameras don't work out. Would be amazing to see new software giving how powerful the chip is inside of the tablet.
Can we still use the TWRP recovery from here along with the bootloader modification you posted?

Link seems to be broken. My bookmark doesn't work either. Due to the site changes?

Is there anybody out there to tell me how to gain root access with this 14.1 Rom installed? Tried towelroot, but it does not work" ...not for this phone.."Back to life
Thanks to highwaystar_ru I was able to install twrp and then lineage 14.1 with Open GApps pico.
I hope that somebody will be able to bring this to 15.1
Could you please explain how you made it work.
@ShapeShifter499: I installed the rom from highwaystar_ru, works fine. Now I try to install npjohnson's rom ttps://forum.xda-developers.com/shi...-atap-t4177581 following the instructions to the point. But I am getting stuck with installing the superuser via towelroot . It says this telephone is not supported. How did you manage to obtain su. I read that towelroot works on the stockrombecauses it uses a fault in the code. How did you got around this obstacle?
In addition I am facing temporary problems with adb, where I get sometimes error: device '(null)' not found
If it works I get stuck here
PS D:\Andreas-Eigene-Dateien\Downloads\yellowstone_pie_psci\yellowstone_pie_psci> adb shell su -c dd if=/dev/block/platform/sdhci-tegra.3/by-name/PES of=/sdcard/persist.img
/system/bin/sh: su: not found
So I am looking for a different way to obtain su
Any help welcome
I had TWRP installed first. From there I followed the thread instructions. Worked like charm. With TWRP I installed the the 14.1 rom from highwaystar_ru. No problems so far. Then I saw npjohnsons Lineage 16 and wanted to Upgrade. But being a beginner I stumbled into several pitfalls with ADB (Tablett was in recovery, but it needs to be booted into the normal system) The towelroot Su from the instructions did not work. Thought I had to roll back to kitkat. Got the Rom from the link in the TWRP thread. But next pitfall, I installed it into micro sd card folder. Did work when I shifted everything to the internal memory Backup folder. Being back on kitkat I tried towelroot again to gain SU access. No success either. But I got lucky with "SupersSU v2.82 SR5 Beta" from droidfilehost.com page.did you try to go right into LINEAGE 16 from the ROM HIGHWAYSTAR_RU built , or did you restore the stock 4.4 first ?
( asking because i haven't had a chance to try this previous version of LINEAGE yet. )
no idea if this works, but try flashing the LINEAGE_SU, and then swapping to another SU / MAGISK / SUPER_SU/ etc.. type? (i would do a full ADB dump of the device before trying this, as i am not sure TWRP backups are the ENTIRE image.)
It uses binary files from stock yellowstone and has some issues:
cameras doesnt work, video playback sometimes has artifacts, all cpu
cores always up (without it video playback lags), accelerometer sensor
inverted.
Me and couple of lineage devs working hard to port shieldtablet kernel
to yellowstone, it will allow to use shield binary files and resolve
most problems, but progress are really slow (but there is some
progress lately).
Yeah I messaged @npjohnson here on XDA, he responded within a few hours, he simply said its a complicated install and he'd upload more when ready. (He is as of yesterday posting a 17.1 version)
I haven't tried any of the newer builds since my first attempt.
But if you hear back or try one of his builds ( https://download.ods.ninja/android/lineage/Yellowstone/ ) let us know how it goes.
I was told from @highwaystar_ru that a modified tos.img and bootloader would be needed to boot any of his 15.1 builds. I asked about where to get those but I never got a reply yet.
I noticed some LineageOS activity for the Google Tango Tablet Yellowstone at https://review.lineageos.org/q/yellowstone I still don't know if any bootloader or tos.img modifications are required. I did email the email attached to the user who uploaded some of those git commits listed, but I'm waiting to hear back.
yeah its under the link posted , if you watch his downloads he's been posting nightly's I messaged him about it , installing ROM isn't straight forward flash through TWRP (I tried) and they are all unofficial builds (but they are looking at official status on lineage 16 *now)
so it's just a matter of waiting, but considering the amount of activity on it lately i'm hopeful we'll get an official release soon
Ah, I see. Well from my point of view I cant confirm that apx works. Actually sounds like that apx is the cause of your issue.
I do know that TWRP and the ROM from highwaystar_ru do work unless you absolutely need bluetooth. So, again, my advice would be to install those. The ROM (14.1-20190208) is better than stock for the most part and you can always reflash that apx if you want. Follow the link and click the blue download button top center (its not in English). Probably best to do a TWRP backup of your current stock before flashing LOS even though its broken. If LOS fixes the issue you may be able to restore parts of the backup to return to stock.
