I used the tar.md5; when odin auto-rebooted my phone I think I had to remove the battery during the s7560m logo display, and then I was able to boot twrp recovery mode with the phone buttons.

Have you rooted your phone and then installed cwm recovery or other version of twrp recovery ?
Can any one help with galaxy S Dous, model GT-S7562L, base: S7562LVJAMH1, android 4.0.4?
Not rooted and cant flush with CWM or TWRP.
Tried a lot especially for TWRP.

Use Odin, flash this file (https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24591000424944232) and when the phone reboots, make sure that your S Duos boots DIRECTLY to the recovery. If you let it boot into the OS, TWRP will be replaced with the stock recovery.

Redownload and try again? If it doesn't work then try using another version of Odin.

31Hi S7562, S7562L and S7560M users,
This is my attempt to build the latest version of TWRP available today. It seems to be working but there may be some bugs. So any help with testing would be nice. You can flash it using CWM or old version of TWRP recovery. Don't forget to take full backup of your phone before experimenting with this.

Tried this recovery. Everything works great - file flashing, wiping, formatting. File manager also works without problems. No bugs found. But maybe you noticed the screen turns noisy before the TWRP splash screen. Great work @kengnatural.3seems to be working fine for me.
did reboot well,wiped cache,will try flashing something and the UI is just awesome.
