First of all thank you for the great Work. I'm in Arrow and twrp worked well. I Wonder If flashing new Firmware works already? I'm on 12.0.4 and would Like to Test If 12.0.6 works too. Did Somebody Test thus?

It depends more on whether Arrow support it or not than on Twrp. I flashed from Eu 12.0.6 to Arrow. It is okay with slight tweak.

Thanks jngiag, could you elaborate what you mean by tweak? Is there a Ressource where I can find the differences between EU & Global Firmware?
Best regards
The difference is just the firmware and vendor of 12.0.4 and 12.0.6 if I am not wrong. I suppose Eu and stock rom are using same firmware and vendor. Anyway, the latest Arrow rom (2021-05-04) fixed "12.0.6.0 vendor causing boot loop" so there is no need for any tweak now.

You can just flash the latest Arrow rom from 12.0.6 vendor using the twrp same as what you did for the 12.0.4 vendor.

Bug report :

Following guides on xiaomi.eu and xda here, before flashing ROMs, "format data".

Data is gone.

"Put the ROM into internal storage."

Connect to PC, internal storage inaccessible from PC !!!

Internal storage was accessible before data wipe.

I tried to boot into system, MIUI loaded, initialization setup done. Reboot to fastboot, flash recovery and boot twrp img, then internal storage accessible again.

So, before flashing a rom, format data.

Done, oh no, internal storage inaccessible by PC AGAIN !!!

Now I'm forced to install rom with microSD, if formatting data is required "before flashing".

I got 3 of this phone, 2 of the are having same issue.
The third is waiting to unlock bl.

Arrow's guide ([ROM] guide, not [GUIDE] guide) had this "wipe data" step "after" zip flashing. So this works.

I'm just wondering if all guides about formatting before flashing rom zip is the must order.

I understand what you say. I encounter it (no data issue) twice. I can't understand why but other than that it works fine most of the times.

I had the same problem when I tried to flash the xiaomi.eu ROM but I resolved differently. I flashed the the orangefox recovery and formatted data with it and the storage became accessible again. Then I flashed TWRP again and found that storage was still accessible so I could copy the ROM and flash

Great to hear this solution.

Now I'm wondering if the other way around ("flash" twrp, and then "fastboot boot" to orangefox recovery for wiping data) would be working as well.

It seems the Orangefox recovery is necessary only for wiping data, while other usage like dirty flash/ota/zip/data rescue will be better with TWRP.

So if this way works, might just leave TWRP installed. Only boot with Orangefox recovery when necessary for data wipe.

Thank you! However I tried flashing Derpfest on my Poco X3 Pro vayu (3rd June 2021) and got the error:

    //
E3003: Can't install this package (DATE OF DERPFEST PACKAGE 3rd June 2021) over newer build (DATE OF TWRP 17th June 2021)
Updater process ended with ERROR: 1
    Error installing zip file...
    //

Is there any way around it?

[EDIT: Fixed it by flashing an older version of TWRP over the latest one (I actually googled TWRP-3.5.1-vayu-nebrassy-1.img, found it and flashed it. Now flashed Derpfest no problem. Thanks]
sounds like a problem they should fix, you might get away by just modifying their updater-script

and for older builds of twrp, just go to the archived folder in the download link

    Introduction:

Team Win Recovery Project or TWRP for short, is a custom recovery built with ease of use and customization in mind. We started from the ground up by taking AOSP recovery and loading it with the standard recovery options, then added a lot of our own features. It's a fully touch driven user interface , no more volume rocker or power buttons to mash. The GUI is also fully XML driven and completely theme-able. You can change just about every aspect of the look and feel.

    Key Features:

Touchscreen driven with real buttons and drag-to-scroll
XML-based GUI that allows full customization of the layout true theming!
Settings are saved to the sdcard and persist through reboots
Ability to choose which partitions to back up and which to restore
Ability to choose to compress backups now with pigz (multi-core processor support for faster compression times)
    Onscreen keyboard
    Easy selection of internal/external storage

In addition to the above new features, TWRP features a scripting engine that allows an app to send commands to the recovery for the recovery to perform during startup. We call this scripting engine OpenRecoveryScript. This engine will be put to use immediately in the GooManager app. GooManager will be able to install recoveries automatically for most supported devices. The app will also let you choose to install multiple zips from within Android, wipe, and run a backup.

We are looking for other talented developers, themers, and device maintainers if they are interested in helping with a free, open source project.

If you have made your own TWRP build for an unsupported device, please let us know. We might add your build to the list of unofficial builds. Bear in mind that we are working hard to add more devices and we may add your device to our official build list later.

I have tested it flashing Arrow vanilla version.

    1) Able to read and write from Pc to internal storage and sd card.
    2) Able to flash rom and Gapp separately.
    3) Able to backup and restore.

It is almost like a perfect twrp to me. (y) Thank you.
