Can I install this version of TWRP on the T-Mobile Optimus T (P509)? And is there another way to install TWRP? My menu button doesn't work so I can't flash a zip file in Clockworkmod.

You might be able to change your button configuration so that your menu button works.. Im not familiar with how to do it..I believe zeratos knows alot about that, but yes twrp can be installed on the optimus t.

yes you can. use LGMDP v1.5 to do it. I will assume you have drivers loaded so LGMDP can recognize your device.
depending on how your SD card is setup, you may need to include partition.mbn in the folder where your recovery.img is. that was my case. would not install correctly otherwise.

I must be mistaken, but I thought once you successfully boot into CWM that you can use the power button to enter/execute a menu item.
if you search/google "install recovery LGMDP" there are several versions of instructions around. if you get lost post back

I love that this is a flashable zip. Really easy instructions from start to finish. use super one click to root phone. install rom manager use that to flash recovery download this zip to anywhere. boot into recovery flash this zip. Done you now have touch recovery :)
Also really nice that it gives a battery % on this. Just in case i ever totally drain my battery again with this recovery no more guesswork as to when there is enough battery power to actually start up the rom in something other than recovery.

Is there a way to password protect the recovery? So my sister couldn't accidentally do so something serious to my P500.

Sent from my sending thing.
