That's cus you haven't enabled developer mode on your device

Go to settings>>about phone and tap your build number seven (7) times till you get a prompt that you are now a developer.
Now go back and you will see a new menu called developer options under settings
Open it then go to debugging and turn USB debugging on.
You may get a warning but just ignore it.
That's all

Seems your BootLoader isn't fully unlocked even though it's fooling you into thinking it is. Unlock it again and it will work.
PS: next time you're angry try hitting your head against a wall. It really helps[emoji14]

Hey, Many thanks.
I managed to fix it using the first method you stated.

Flashing TWRP backups just left me in a bootloop.

I was not aware that a specific version of SuperSU was required

Am having the same problem can you tell me how you got it back to boot exactly?
