Thanks to @jcadduono for all the help, and DeckerSU for making TWRP device tree.
Report bugs below, and flash phh's SuperUser for root.
Keep in mind all I did was build this; this is in no way my work. That credit goes to DeckerSU for making the device tree!
EDIT: Waiting on DeckerSU's flashing tool to flash this.

I got a private build of Alcatel Flasher from DeckerSU. He also gave me a TWRP partition image. I flashed it, it works great. My Idol 4 (6055P) is rooted now.

So far based on reading with trial and error, nothing yet. I've tried fastboot and adb with no success. The problem I see is the bootloader is locked down.
Wrong, there's a way to root the phone. The first step is to flash the recovery partition with a custom recovery (TWRP), and then to install SuperSU from the custom recovery, which effectively roots the phone. But for now the flashing utility is still not publicly released.

I know you said you have the root tool. Maybe if you request to publish it, more people will be pumped about it. Even if it's a beta I mentioned what I said before on my prior post, there is nothing available because DeckerSu hasn't publicly released it.

Oh okay thanks I'll keep on checking back to see when everything is publicly available

I just got this idol4 yesterday. Its replacing my moto e 2015 xt1527 that I had rooted. Sadly I lost that phone. Sadly because I had become so familiar with that device and its major ROM developers/contributors over the last year

So I must say I was a bit disappointed to hear rooting this device will not be as straight forward as last time.

If there are any steps I can take to aid the process feel free to let me know.
I've started pulling logs and procs and stuff

Here are a few tidbits. So far I haven't done anything extraneous like attempt any flashes, I've just been peeping. ADB replies "device" when prompted and let me cp those files. .
Is there something specific I need to be pulling that would help crack open this Idol?

P.s. The text document getprop.txt was generated with terminal command getprop in ADB shell. Its funny, the busybox components look present in system/bin, yet many commands return errors like "get proc not found in system/bin/sh..." to that effect.
And this line popped right out from that same document: [init.svc.flash_recovery]: [stopped]
I'm not sure if any of this info is useful to anyone. So far I haven't found a use for it. Lol
I'm still digging..

That's a shame. Is deckersu the only person that can figure it out? I have no programming experience unfortunately but patience I do have ?[/QUOTE

I asked @Alek Dev if he could try and he said he might so hopefully he will be able to get it if he gets to work on it all all
@Alek Dev is really awesome. Done a lot with idol 3 and never failed. I hope Alek Dev can do it.
