[RECOVERY][UNOFFICIAL] TWRP 3.0.2.0 for the Idol 4

Any news on rooting this yet? My sister is about to give me her Cricket Idol 4 and I'd love to flash TWRP and root.

Also, couldn't we just unlock the bootloader and flash this with ADB? Or is this locked down like most other Cricket phones?

From my understanding @Alek Dev or @ALEX DEv is perhaps going to create a root if he can get a phone to play with. I too have a cricket idol 4 and fastboot is enabled so I'm thinking it's going to be pretty easy for root.

Decided not to take the phone. Lost interest in it quickly TBH. Went ahead and revived my AT&T G3 and flashed 7.1.1 RR on it. Definitely the fastest ROM I've had the pleasure of using in a long while. I think I'll stick with this for a while. Still a very capable device for its age. Thanks for the info though, I appreciate the reply!

Man I hope to see some kind of development with this... I was absolutely in love with my idol 3 and the work @AlekDev did and does with that thing.. I still have all the Roms, recocery, and tools on my •android-dedicated-hd• but my screen shattered with a lil help after the corner cracked and it stopped working lol.. waiting to order a new screen but in the mean time I got the 4 6055U cricket.. haven't attempted much cause all I read on here is how it can't be do e like the rest.. but the 3 6045O cricket worked with everything that worked on all the other variants.. thats weird ?

so what's the deal? it's now July 20017.. not one person will share the root process and exactly which model can be rooted? SMH.. kind of ridiculous.. I thought this was a forum where we share our knowledge .. if it's about trying to get money, I'm out and others will end up leaving the XDA forum of this kind of attitude continues.. my 2 cents

You don't need to 'leave' XDA, but have to check if a device is supported here, before you buy it! I wanted to buy this device, but will abstain, because not even one generous developers is interested in it.

Bootloader is not locked, comes that way from the factory.
