I tried this TWRP implementation but I realized very soon that it is completely useless for me because it cannot access the uncyphered /data partition.
I really need to do nandroid backups of this partition.
Now I use implementation (for p10 devices) and I am very happy with it on my Mediapad M5 CMR-W09.
Huawei Mediapad M5 - CMR-AL09 220.127.116.11(C432)
I am use twrp_p10_0.1.img : this TWRP work with encrypt on MY device
If i lost my device - the "data" is encrypt
If i use TWRP without encrypt the first action = boot to TWRP, go to Wipe, format "data", reboot from TWRP to TWRP
Now is "data" without crypt. If i lost the device now : data is readable from everyone
I am setting PIN for login / stand by and wake up (screen off and on).
If encrypt work you see by start recovery (TWRP), TWRP need PIN and decrypt "data"
If this TWRP work on other M5 Model/Coutry(= build) : i dont know / i dont have
TWRP [3.2.2-1 Unofficial] Thanks to @schwabe93
Not everything is functional, but hey, you'll have TWRP.
I went to the TWRP found at link below and haven't had any issues—best TWRP I've found for my SHT-W09.I just tried this and the one from https://forum.xda-developers.com/p10/development/recovery-twrp-3-2-1-0-emui-8-0-4-04-2018-t3773449 with no luck. It takes me straight back into the EMUI recovery
Can anyone confirm if this still works?
I am using US version 8.4 WIFI only (SHT-W09 8.00196(C567))
Don't waste your time, TWPR for m5 is no longer developed, use fastboot to flash your prefered ROM.Hi,
I have just got my Media Pad M5 10.8 Model CMR-W09
I keep trying to flash TWRP recovery and I keep getting the "failed - command not allowed " response.
I have OEM unlock checked and receive a correct reply to adb devices and reboot into bootloader. Bootloader screen says phone locked FRP unlocked.
Any assistance would be much appreciated.
