Yes, works flawlessly, if anyone really wants, I can work on a proper installation guide with rooting and installing LineageOS with all the quirks and troubleshooting, but since I don't have any more devices I could re-test this on, I'd just have to write it from memory.
Can you elaborate on the steps you took to resolve your flash?

I ran into TWRP being unresponsive, used Frija to try forcing the latest stock image, and then used the USB-C to USB-A converter to use my wireless mouse to select options in TWRP.

Now, I am using these instructions to flash this image (system-squeak-arm64-ab-gapps.img.xz) but it doesn't take at the end even tho the process doesn't show any errors. When I manually reboot the tablet after the installation, the tablet just restarts back in TWRP

It looks like you never renamed the image to "system". For the SM-X200 you need to do that to get compatible GSIs to work

Formatted Data -> Wiped data and then when I tried to reboot it, it automatically launched the AOSP I had downloaded.

I did the foolish thing and backed up all of my data in Smart Switch so that's all gone but I'd rather spend the next hour redownloading and reconfiguring the tablet instead of flashing the OG ROM -> restoring the backup -> flashing this again

Hello Guy :)
I installed TWRP over Odin.
But the Touchscreen dont work on my Tablet. (SM-X200)
I tried the latest Version down to v11-0.

Stock Firmware was Android 13.
Any solution for it?

Greeting from Germany :)

Use a USB-C -> USB Adapter to plug your mouse into your tablet. Navigate TWRP via your mouse and otherwise proceed w/ the regular steps. Sevastian has 1-2 posts earlier in this thread on the issue. (I experienced the issue myself as well)

Thanks for your work in getting TWRP with Android 13 but there is a problem. If you have stock Android 13 on the tablet, TWRP get overwritten the first time you boot to system, even if you booted to TWRP first. There was a multidisabler script to solve this problem in earlier versions, but it doesn't help with this one. I've attached a copy of it if you want to use it to see it worked in the earlier version.

Download the TWRP app and flash the latest version in this thread. As long as you reboot to recovery right afterwards and not system....it will stick

I am using the version of TWRP you linked with the CWA3 kernel. And I ALWAYS reboot to recovery after flashing TWRP. Been doing it for years. And it works just fine if you have an Android 12 ROM installed. But I upgraded to the latest stock Android 13 ROM and then flashed TWRP, rebooted to it, and it worked. BUT, I then rebooted to system, and that is when it got overwritten. Did this a couple of times with the same result. I think the problem may be that the latest stock is CWB1, even later than CWA3.

But did you use the TWRP app I mentioned to install the recovery? There's something about this method that just works for this specific device. Wasn't able to install TWRP using any other method

Do you mean the app from Play Store? I installed the way I always have, via Odin. I'll give the app a try.

I'm not able to root the latest CWA3 firmware using Magisk. I'm having bootloop after flashing patched boot.img. Steps I followed:

1) Clean flash of CWA3 firmware (from samfw.com SM-X200, INU CSC) through ODIN (BL, AP & CSC)
2) Confirmed above flash was fine by doing a boot of stock firmware
3) Extract boot.img from above firmware file and patch it in magisk to obtained modified boot.img
4) Flash latest twrp image from this thread through ODIN (Flash twrp image tar file in AP)
5) Hold Power & Vol Up buttons during restart to enter TWRP recovery
6) Wipe ->Slide to Factory Reset & Format data
7) flash patched boot.img
8) After rebooting I get a bootloop. After second bootloop it goes into TWRP recovery automatically.

I tried above process 2 times already and both times same result. Previously I was having TWRP and root on my tablet on A12 ROM.

Can anybody please suggest what I'm doing wrong here? @Magendanz

Having root is important to me..

This might be a dumb question but I just got an SM-X200 and want to flash TWRP and then a custom ROM (probably going to go with Lineage).

My question is regarding TWRP and Android 12. I want to load an Android 12 version of Lineage: One of Andy Yan's 19.1 builds

Do I need TWRP to be the older, A12 version which is 3.7.0 or can I install the latest version of TWRP (twrp_3.7.0_12-2_X200XXS1CWA3.img) and still run a custom A12 ROM?

Thanks

Well, I just tried flashing my Samsung Tab A8 (SM-X200) and tried to flash Lineage to it. I successfully flashed TWRP, and have been following a guide (https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...-for-2021-galaxy-tab-a8-10-5-sm-x200.4488691/)

I can even flash .img files via fastboot. I've been trying to use GSI files from Andy Yan (https://sourceforge.net/projects/andyyan-gsi/files/lineage-19.x/)

But no matter what version of Lineage I flash, the tablet doesn't boot into the OS. It just sits at the inital power on screen that says "Android Galaxy" and shows the Android guy.

I'm fairly experienced with flashing custom ROMS. I think I just need a little guidance to get this working.

    Notes:
    • What's posted below is a work in progress, but it should suffice to unblock efforts to build custom ROMs for this impressive tablet.
    • This is unofficial and unsupported, so the usual caveats apply. Since we don't flash the bootloader, you should be able recover from any problems...but nothing is guaranteed.

    Not working:
    • Support for metadata encryption (which causes mounting errors in log)

    • Hold Power & Vol Up during restart to enter TWRP recovery
    • Tap Install->Install Image, select your image (.img) file, pick Recovery partition, and then swipe to install
    • Reboot to Recovery

    What about rooting with Magisk?
These images are not supplied pre-rooted with Magisk, since it's against the terms of use laid out by Magisk's developer, John Wu. To root the TWRP image yourself, simply use Magisk Manager to Select and Patch the boot.img file. More details on this process are available here. Note that you should just patch the boot.img file and not the whole AP tarball, since this device's bootloader doesn't like the empty vbmeta.img that Magisk will provide.

New release for Android 12 is posted. Note that the OEM's stock recovery auto-restoration "feature" has been removed in X200XXU1BVI6, so TWRP installs should survive rebooting to system now.
