ive already lost interest in this, there will be no more builds from me. i dont have the phone, i never will. i was merely trying to port recovery because i had a few people on androidforums.com ask me to. ive already spent far too much time and effort merging this falcon and the common folders so that when recovery was done aosp roms could come out fairly quickly. i stopped updating my github because there wasnt any progress on recovery. i had only 1 tester on AF for the past week so it was painfully slow going for a new device that i assumed people were wanting recovery for.
Well Sir..I personally, certainly appreciate your efforts to this point..and do understand your position with this..please except my thanks..and I'm very sorry you weren't receiving the support you needed..

And yes..we have crossed paths before with this matter in "android forums" I do believe.. but..If you are done with this..I certainly respect your choice..lol

considering you forked my device trees last night it didnt seem odd that it managed to come up with a recovery.img when you compiled it yet there was no prebuilt? ;)
Touche. Touche. :)
I thought the falcon's kernel would let it boot seeing how it's used and somewhat works for the root + recovery method.

Thanks for all your help.

it does, in fact it works for all three, peregrine, falcon, condor :). regardless good to hear about them pushing official source, as i think the dtb files are whats preventing sdcard mounting in cwm now as well. i had no reason to check xda but finding out twrp has issues with it makes me wonder how long ago i would have had a fully functional cwm if i had known this info, oh well :p

I understand that the peregrine and falcon are in the mix, but the condor? Man...

Hopefully the falcon and peregrine will be unified. With dhacker around, I wouldn't be surprised with the work he does.

There are no dtb files for it in the kernel :/

for tehm to be unified someone just needs to figure out this sdcard nonsense, the device tree i have already has em all seperated and unified. cybojenix is working on condor and i was working on peregrine when i contacted dhacker he told me what needed to happen for it to get merged in and then be working officially. its honestly a lot less work than i originally thought but this crap about dtb files is annoying. and the msm8226 kernel builds the dtb files just fine, look in your out directory.

I never saw an msm8226-pergrine.dtb file, and when I think about it, I don't think there should've of been.

The dts and dtsi files for peregrine are actually under msm8926-peregrine, it's the only place where I've seen the SoC be listed "correctly" and not as the falcon's MSM8226.

Oh man... I'm so sorry I'm late... I've just seen this... I have XT1040 and if you ever change your mind, you can count on me for testing... (I'm not a developer...)

Please contact me if I can help with anything...

I second this, I have an XT1045 and would test builds as needed or as schedule permits on my end : im not the most savy and might not be able to identify problems but i can at least just test for functionality

Currently testing the most recent build of the TWRP in this thread, and everything for me seems to be in working order., backing up to SD works even when initiated in device. Permisions fix now does not instantly abort, TWRP settings seem to stick after reboot ( like brightness, vibe duration etc, 12/24 hour time)

Fastboot flashed last twrp on my XT1039 and everything works perfectly, even twrp settings (like vib duration or timezone) are kept.
MicroSD card class10 32GB is working, and enter from power menu with gravitybox works too.
I ordered a uhs-1 64GB microSD card, i'll try it as soon as possible, but i don't have much hope ^^
I tried to enter twrp by pressing vol+ or vol- at moto G logo, but didn't manage.
I'm new to this phone, maybe i miss something ?

[Edit: Nevermind, after thinking a bit more about it i figured out what seems logical, vol-+power to enter download mode then go to recovery.]

A class 10 working, great! So it's either hardware variance or UHS-1 that prevents recovery detecting microSD. 64GB may work if formatted to FAT32 ad not ExFAT (since Moto G 4G doesn't support larger than 32gb microSD). But I haven't seen any success with UHS-1 cards on any recovery thus far. Let us know if it works.

My XT1045:
Known good in OS, my (FAT32) 64GB is not recognized in the internal slot in the new release v2.7.1.0 peregrine..but in normal OS..the card is flawless..switch to 32GB, same MFG..backup and restore is known good..BUT..in OTG-USB, my same 64GB is recognized and a known good backup is compiled..

Something about the internal slot, v2.7.1.0 doesn't recognize my (known good) in OS, 64GB to do a backup and restore via internal slot..

NOT complaining..just mentioning.. The Dev. may look into this if time ever allows..
