2/ Root
just patch the boot .img and the root is kept (no need to power on the phone in TWRP or power it with Vol+ and power)

After flashing twrp in odin and wiping the phone go into Install -> Select storage -> then install the different zips you have downloaded on your sd card (only flash the multidisabler if you dont need the other ones)

Thanks for the quick link replacement!
I took the time to update to ASJ3, October patch and it's working fine so far
I didn't even wipe data in the update process and the only things I've noticed so far is that I had to re-add wifi password and re-set my rules for goodlock routines module to keep my phone unlocked while connected to my home wifi.
Other then that it all seem to work.

Hi. I was wondering what method you used to make the image file into an odin flashable file. I tried to use a tool to do this, but it screwed the firmware up and I had to re-flash it. So I am just wondering what method or program you used, because that might fix it.

I tried flashing this to my phone, but Odin just crashed. I have the latest version, tried both as admin and without it. I have flashed firmware on my phone with Odin before, so that is not the problem. It only happens when I try to flash this image. Any idea why?

Are you using the right file corresponding to your phone's firmware ?
Did you put the file in "ap" ?
Is your phone well connected to Odin ?

Not sure what you mean about using the right file corresponding to my phone's firmware, as I am not flashing firmware on my phone. I just said that I flashed firmware on it before and it has worked before.

Yes, I did put the file in AP.

Phone is well connected to the pc, with original cable, and it is being detected by Odin.
