Yes, I am sure. But, I used the bootloader message fix to remove the red letter msgs.
Key combo takes me into TWRP. Once in TWRP, then what?
Oh ok, then from what i understand the bootloader fix made it possible to boot into root without any keypress....on first run of magisk manager did it prompt to install extra, required files then reboot itself?

Do you have a snapdragon or exynos? Or both

How did you install magisk, and are you running snapdragon or exynos?
*** i saw you in the snapdragon area is why I'm asking...

I have 2 note 10s - 1 exynos and 1 snapdragon.

I am trying to root the exynos phone.
I installed magisk using a pre-rooted TWRP file. (file has kernel, recovery, vbmeta files)

Edit: Very strange.
My phone is now prompting me for root rights. And, the menu items are back.
I'm wondering. Could not having busybox installed caused the root issue?

Thats quite possible....i believe thats part of what magisk installs on that first run where it says it needs to install necessary files then reboots.

So, I turned on my phone this morning. NO ROOT!
I also noticed an error with trying to install busybox.zip files in TWRP. They will not install. error in log file is ambiguous!

Anyone having difficult rebooting into recovery using:
adb reboot recovery

I just updated my sdk files and still no luck. Command does a normal reboot
The above command acts like your are powered off, then pressing Vol-up + pwr keys, then releasing both keys when bootlogo shows

I am about to go and buy a note 10 plus 512GB today.
Can i use (parts?) of this guide to root it and still keep the samsung rom?
(And getting their updates but keep root accessible to me?)

My main wish is to be able to remove "system" apps like facebook, have root for better backup functions and adblocking in all apps

So twrp is updated for Android Q. there will be no more prepatched images since my kernel can now be used. if someone wants a patched recovery instead of kernel he can patch it byself with magisk manager.

N10 5G and N10+ 5G TWRP will get updated after sammy release Q tars

So that means I can update my Note+ to Android 10 (stock ota version) first and then use your root method. Just received the android 10 update on my phone, didn't installed it yet.
Thank for your reply my friend.:good:

Yeah... I have no idea what's going on here.. This is a N970F, yet it is a functioning dual sim. Holding down + power doesn't do anything except reboot (I've got to press up, and then I'm brought to recovery where I select reboot to bootloader which brings me to download). When trying things like Samsung pay, I'm denied because the bootloader is reportedly unlocked, I have usb debugging and oem both on and fingerprint always allowed , yet when I flash either twrp, w or w/o magisk, it says at the top of the screen in red "blocked by oem"

I can't just sideload flash recovery??

    Exynos ONLY.
In NO way it is compatible with Snapdragon variants including but not limited to American(U/A/T/P/V), Chinese(0/8/6), Hong Kong(0), Japanese(SC-*), Canadian(W) variants.

    Special Notes:
    1. DON'T FORGET TO ENABLE "OEM UNLOCK" (located in Developers options).
    2. KNOX will be tripped once you flashed custom binaries to your phone.
(Your warranty may be voided. However this may not affect you if your country forces Samsung to provide hardware warranty regardless of software status.)
    3. Samsung Firmware OTA (aka System Updates) will no longer work once you flashed custom binaries.
(You can flash custom ROMs if you want to keep the OS up-to-date.)
    4. All apps that use KNOX like Samsung pay, Secure Folder and maybe more will no more work

    15.12.2019
    - Updated TWRP for Android 10.0
    - From now on no more Magisk Prepatched images (if you need it patch it byself or flash my kernel where patched recovery is not needed)

    22.09.2019
-Reverted MTP Changes from last build since for some mtp dont worked in system

    21.09.2019
    - Fixed the bug that mtp dont worked any more on TWRP when usb cable got disconnected and reconnected
    - Modded Kernel for have MTP in TWRP, Samsung Roms and GSI roms (for GSI Roms flash GSI_MTP_ENABLER.zip)
    - Reverted FFS MTP changes since new way is more stable :)

    14.09.2019
    - Fixed MTP using FFS_MTP in recovery (Thx to @bigbiff for add FFS MTP support on TWRP 3.3.0. FFS_MTP dont corrupts large files like the mtp used by samsung in the roms)
