Me too. Is there any chance to get a current version without binary error?
you do realize the age of this thread's contents right?

contains oreo data mount fix, twrp menu lag fix, faster sd read/write speeds, otg mount fix and more?:
june 10th 2018

https://github.com/zeroblade1984/samsung_exynos8895/releases/tag/TWRP_OREO_UPD

then install a recent magisk or super su.
most simply install a rom at this point that will already have the above roots.

if oem unlock issue, then wait 7 days redo the procedure without rebooting after first boot following a flashed trwp and root method.

Can you use Team Win Recovery to delete all your data quickly if you think it will be confiscated by customs? They do that these days, not often, but they don't follow the 4th amendment. They will even ask you for your social/email account passwords, although you are not required to give them. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Law_of_the_instrument

What options in "Advanced Wipe" do I select, to keep my apps (and perhaps their settings?), but delete all their data, including account usernames and passwords and contacts and email, etc, etc.

Backup and leave it all at home if you're that worried?

If you factory reset in twrp does it keep your apps? I know if you wipe cache that's part of it but then your app data idk if twrp can do that directly?? That sounds like settings=>apps=>clear data, a script flashed in twrp could almost certainly handle that as well?? Or a boot script could be made but idk how to do that? The brain powers working now!! And I was gonna say just make a backup, hell bring it with you on a flash drive and restore it later. No way they would see that and move it to your internal storage and twrp restore? Unless you're coming to some hipster competition and certainly shouldnt be 1000 miles from the US....

Edit: you could titanium backup the data and clear it and restore at destination, repeat again through customs?

And leave backup at home base or bring on flash drive?

DUDE just back up your data on the plane and wipe it if/when needed? Are customs going to boot up twrp and restore your data? Thinking too hard on that one....

Guides:
Notice: It may wipe all your data including those in internal storage.

Part 1 - HOW-TO FLASH TWRP:
1. In your ROM, go to Settings -> About device. Tap 7 times on Build number to enable Developer options.
2. Go to Settings -> Developer options and enable OEM Unlock option.
3. Download and Install Samsung Mobile Phones Drivers.
- Option 1: Download and Install Smart Switch for PC.
- Option 2: Download and Install standalone driver package.
4. Download and extract Odin (Samsung's Flash Tool) to your computer.
5. Download a .tar image of TWRP.
6. Reboot your device to download mode.
- Hold [VOLUME DOWN] + [BIXBY] + [POWER] for approx. 15 seconds.
- Read the warning carefully.
- If you agree, press [VOLUME UP] to get into Download mode. If you don't agree, STOP.
7. Open Odin and place that TWRP tar file in the [AP] slot.
8. Connect your phone.
9. Hold [VOLUME UP] + [BIXBY] + [POWER] on your phone and then press start on Odin.
10. Wait for the phone to reboot. DO NOT release [VOLUME UP] + [BIXBY] + [POWER] or you may not reboot into TWRP.

Part 2 - HOW-TO INITIALIZE TWRP: (for new phones)
1. If you completed Part 1 successfully, you should be in TWRP now. At this point, you will reach the screen asking you if you want to allow system modifications.
2. Select "Keep /system RO". (Don't swipe right or you may not be able to boot into system if you failed to complete next steps. However, you can swipe right to allow modifications if you are confident that you can complete next steps.)
3. Go to "Wipe" menu of TWRP and you will find "Format Data". Press "Format Data" and type "yes" to continue.
4. Go to "Reboot" menu and Press "Recovery" to reboot TWRP.
5. Download the latest dm-verity and force encryption disabler zip on your computer.
6. Transfer the zip to your phone.
- Option 1: MTP: Connect your phone with computer and just copy the zip to internal storage. (similar to how you transfer files when in system.) (for the moment not working)
- Option 2: ADB: Connect your phone with computer and run command "adb push /path/to/zip /sdcard/". (for the moment not working)
- Option 3: External SD: Copy the zip to an external SD and then insert the card to your phone.
7. Go to "Install" menu of TWRP and flash the zip.

TWRP is initialized and fully functional at this stage. Now you can either reboot into system or root, flash custom ROMs via TWRP.

Part 3 - HOW-TO ROOT:
1. Download the flashable zip.
- Option 1: Magisk
- Option 2: SuperSU (untested)
2. Transfer the zip to your phone.
3. Go to "Install" menu of TWRP and flash the zip.

Part 3a - HOW-TO FLASH CUSTOM ROMS:
1. Download the flashable zip.
2. Transfer the zip to your phone.
3. Go to "Install" menu of TWRP and flash the zip.
Simple.

Is this method still work on Oreo, or have I to download new twrp_for_oreo_in this 741.message (from Tkkg1994 ) https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...ery-twrp-galaxy-note-8-exynos-t3674036/page75

Download .tar file from Tkkg1994, use ODIN to flash it and done. Before that enable OEM unlock in developer options.

Thank you very much
I will flash twrp-3.2.1-2-greatlte.tar .md5 (from Tkkg1994 )with odin
Have I to make this step
12.From TWRP, Select WIPE menu - Then FORMAT DATA - You need to type 'yes' to perform wipe. WARNING : This will erase all data including Int SD storage from device
(I want to use existing stock rom)

@efe34, I suppose you just want to have root, right? Bc if you don't, why flashing twrp at all? Well, there may be be additional reason (sound mod for instance)... But still, think twice. :)
Anyway, formating data removes encryption. If encryption is removed, you need kernel, which supports such state. And once should be known from the start : if you do factory reset (from stock recovery for instance), you actually format data and clean cache. And your stock rom works just fine. But factory reset from stock recovery does not remove encryption. So, if you format data from TWRP (encryption removed), your stock rom may work just fine. BUT you need something more: a kernel modification. Bc it has to operate without encryption. Simplest way would be flashing no-verity or... custom kernel of your choice. Last is even more important : if you format data, you always end with clean rom. I mean all your data will be lost (pictures, apps, downloads, whatever).
So the simple answer for how... wold be: format data, reboot to recovery, flash no-verity, reboot to system. All your data will be lost. And the phone will boot just like it was never used b4.

I want to use TWRP in order to back up EFS and the existing stock rom. And also to install a custom rom ,using TWRP.
And than being able to return from the backed up rom to stock rom again with twrp. I was able to manage this when I had note4.
Long story short,
I dont want my existing stock rom to dissapear when I install twrp and root (install super su)
Thanks in advance

Well, on new Sammy devices all that is possible AFTER formating data. Without it you wouldn't be able to make full TWRP backup... And bc of that, all I wrote in my previous post is up to date. I do not know TWRP's way to backup encrypted stock rom. I personally never used, but I would suggest take a look at Sammy smart switch or any windows app they provide for backups. That may be the way. And one from my own experience : even if I thought as same as you long time ago (when Sammy devices weren't encrypted jet), never got back to stock rom TWRP's backup. :)

Ps. Note4 wasn't encrypted, so there was possible to make full TWRP backup with all data.

My phone is rooted succesfully. Or i suppose like that. Use the after flashing no-verity-opt-encrypt-6.0 file, i think stock rom is decrypted. İts works now(TWRP is works and phone is boot properly ).
I Use to twrp for backup the EFS
1-İs efs backup works to next any time
2- Can ı backup with twrp to decrypted stock rom currently. And is it works after if i will use custom rom and want to back backupped stock rom.

    Oreo TWRP

Dear friends and readers of this thread

I started to work on oreo recently and read about your comments that the current twrp isn't compatible with oreo.

I got bored at university so I'm releasing the twrp now. I can't test it since I don't have my n8 with me, please let me know if everything works as expected :good:

Hence I decided (again) to build my own twrp version with the latest kernel sources (oreo) and the latest TWRP sources. So we got everything up to date! :fingers-crossed:

The update to oreo is the only change, I haven't changed anything else apart from this.
