🤔🤔🤔
Why you need internet on PC?
Idk what you're reffering to man haha, setting up twrp on my a7 was much easier. I didn't even know what the kg status was until like 5 mins ago. I'll try and get it checking even though I'm already connected to the internet on my phone, unless you're reffering to a sim card connection and not wifi.

EDIT: my kg status is now checking

EDIT2: It works now, no idea why kg wasn't in checking earlier, even though I've already had the phone setup

True we don't care about PC connections
Device must be connected to data or wifi with internet after factory reset.

Everything is set up and working well, however, when trying to install the viper4android magisk module from within magisk, the whole phone crashes. Is this a common issue?

don't flash the zip for Viper, download the apk and install it. then you'll need to look for a thread on patching one of it's files to work on SELinux enforcing. I can only make it work for a short while on magisk 23 this way, some say you need to be on magisk 21 or lower and update magisk later... DON'T REPLY HERE
make a Viper thread, we need one.

Phone is fully setup now, sorry for asking about V4A, I decided to not install it. But new question, is there sd card support in the latest TWRP version? Because I usually make a backup of the whole phone to my sd card every so often. But TWRP doesn't recognise my sd card, which I tested within android and is 100% fully working btw.

Also, not being able to boot into the recovery without a pc connection is kind of a bummer, unless there's a way to get around that.

No SD card support, samsung don't support it in recovery and I don't have device to fix it.

download a root reboot app and you won't need any key combos anymore
I use this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bdrm.superreboot

I turned off the phone. I connected my phone to my computer with a USB cable. The screen shows that the phone is charging as a percentage. Then I pressed VOL + and the POWER KEY. I have entered RECOVERY MODE which looks like in the attached photo. There is no possibility to install ZIP files there (multidisabler-samsung-3.x.zip and Magisk-23.0.zip). REVOCERY MODE doesn't look like TWRP.
    I'm doing something wrong ... :(

I found a solution. Immediately after installing TWRP, disconnect the USB cable and press VOL- and POWER. When the phone turns off, quickly connect the USB cable and press VOL + and POWER. Then we will enter TWRP.
    The rest was easy.

Thank you for your help and my regards

I confirm it works perfectly on OneUi4, the only thing that we are terribly missing is access to the SD card, hope that one day @afaneh92 can fix it ...

    Hello,

after many tries, the solution from mayster works ...

    old:

I have a g780g and followed your guide. When I want to enter TWRP (step 5) with the key combo vol up + power it will enter the stock android recovery. Do you know what's wrong?

    Thanks for helping me

I'm in the exact situation as you, mate.
Same SM-780G (S20FE-4G), and the unexplained inability to reboot into TWRP recovery, no matter how many tries I did to reboot using the indicate Vol Up + Power key combination.

Team Win Recovery Project 3.x, or twrp3 for short, is a custom recovery built with ease of use and customization in mind. Its a fully touch driven user interface no more volume rocker or power buttons to mash. The GUI is also fully XML driven and completely theme-able. You can change just about every aspect of the look and feel.

    Code:
     * Your warranty is now void.
    * I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
    * thermonuclear war, or your getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
    * do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
    * before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
    * you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.

    Supported Models:
    Galaxy S20 FE 5G G7810, G781B, G781N, G781U, G781U1, G981W and G780G (4G).

    US/Canada bootloader unlock thread:
    here

    Download & Guide:
    1. Unlock your bootloader.
    2. Download S20 FE 5G: r8q.
    3. Reboot to download mode and flash vbmeta_disabled.tar in AP slot and reboot. Device will reboot to stock recovery mode prompting you to wipe data so wipe data and reboot to download mode again.
    4. Put the TWRP tar for your device with Odin in the AP slot and click start.
    5. Reboot to recovery via recovery key combo.
    6. Disable encryption:
    Or:
    - Go to Advanced > Terminal, type: multidisabler.
If vendor complain about free space left on device, will attempt to resize vendor. and it ask to - Run multidisabler again!.
    - Type: multidisabler again. will see - Finished. when done.
    7. Go back to Wipe > Format Data > type yes.
    8. Reboot to recovery.
    9. Flash magisk apk in twrp.
    10. Reboot to system, Enjoy.

    Note:
    To disable encryption manually:
You need to replace fileencryption=ice with encryptable=ice only in userdata line (maybe rest lines) in vendor/etc/fstab.qcom
To avoid stock recovery restoration manually:
    Rename system/recovery-from-boot.p to recovery-from-boot.p.bak

    Support:
Live support is available via #twrp on Freenode with your IRC client or just click this link.

@afaneh92 just checking in to ask what if any sources to you want / need to help you ?
I'm on the Samsung open source site now and downloading a zip for G781BXXU2CUD1 but I've no idea if it's kernel sources inside (280mbs ish). another page I saw here mentioned using the inquiry tab to submit a request.

if you can tell me exactly what you want I'll more than happily put in a request for it, I'm sure others would too.

I'll edit this later and add the zip files full name that I've downloaded and if you want that I'll put it mediafire or similar.

SM-G781B_SEA_RR_Opensource.zip is the archive name, taken from clicking on G781BXXU2CUD1 which matches my current baseband and buildnumberView attachment 5299763
I will start working on the new kernel source soon.

@QRCode please consider making a thread about the exact method it required, resources needed and your experience with it.
this sort of thing will be useful to others. particularly of interest is the features that don't work currently.
I'll do my best still testing everything compiling my data etc
