I found a solution. Immediately after installing TWRP, disconnect the USB cable and press VOL- and POWER. When the phone turns off, quickly connect the USB cable and press VOL + and POWER. Then we will enter TWRP.
The rest was easy.

Thank you for your help and my regards
Bravo, clever move! 👌🏻
It seems that inserting the power cable after powering on the phone (after the TWRP flash) + the recovery combo keys managed to boot into the TWRP recovery.

After following all the steps and successfully flashing Magisk-23.0.zip in TWRP recovery and rebooting to system (steps 9 and 10) it seems that the magisk installation didn't went as expected.
The first sign, in the Magisk manager is says Installed: N/A.
When trying to install Youtube Vanced the Grant Root Permision will return "Root access not granted".
Do you have any ideea why the root process didn't succeded?

I have tried to flash magisk_23.0.zip in TWRP and the screen flashed shortly without showing all the terminal commands.
I have taken a recovery.log and searching magisk in it I have found the following code:

Code:
Installing zip file '/sdcard/Magisk-23.0.zip'

Invalid zip file format!

To be perfectly honest, this IMPORTANT step should have been stated in the steps needed to install TWRP and obtain root.
afaneh92, It isn't too late to update these steps with this minor but important detail.
Umm, I thought most were aware of this just as you have to connect the device with cable to boot to download mode also. I guess I was wrong figuring that users were aware of this. But once Magisk is installed you can boot to recovery from there..or with reboot app..or terminal

No, for me and many others trying to root Samsung devices it was not clear. Luckily an inspired user in this thread documented the whole procedure.

Regarding the magisk, it seems that the flashing procedure was not succesful... So, no root for me and surely no rebooting in recovery from Magisk.
I have documented the error and sent it here.

if you have your firmware for your phone sitting on your PC this version of 7zip can open both .tar archives and .LZ4 archives
that means you can go the slightly less painful route to patch with magisk by extracting the boot.lz4 from the AP archive and extracting the boot.img after that.
use magisk to patch just the boot.img on your phone and then flash the patched version with TWRP to the boot partition.

you only need Odin to downgrade, you can flash normally from 12 to Dec or Nov because they share the same binary number.

Please Please 🙏 can you update to the latest kernel source I am waiting for so many times, this smartphone gets an android 12 update🥺🙇‍♂️🙇‍♂️

    Hi all.

    I have a Galaxy S20 FE 5G SM-G781B/DS.
Once rooted, is the unlock of apps (like banking apps or other apps) with fingerprint works ?

    Thanks.
that will depend on the app, if you successfully hide root from your banking app it should work fine. there are a few banking apps that are harder to hide magisk from, they look at more things or the request root access to test the system.
it's probably quicker to search for the names of your apps plus magisk hide.
not really the right place for this question.

make a thread in the questions and answers section or even better in the android general section, then ask if your specific named banking apps work for others if you can't find the info yourself.

Hello, is the SM-G780G/DS the same as G780G? All I know is that the DS model is Dual Sim, but idk if it's any different.
Also does rooting delete any data?
as far as TWRP goes they are the same yes.
rooting does not wipe data but unlocking the bootloader does and flashing multidisabler (so that twrp isn't overwritten) requires a format of the data partition afterwards.

Team Win Recovery Project 3.x, or twrp3 for short, is a custom recovery built with ease of use and customization in mind. Its a fully touch driven user interface no more volume rocker or power buttons to mash. The GUI is also fully XML driven and completely theme-able. You can change just about every aspect of the look and feel.

    Code:
     * Your warranty is now void.
    * I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
    * thermonuclear war, or your getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
    * do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
    * before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
    * you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.

    Supported Models:
    Galaxy S20 FE 5G G7810, G781B, G781N, G781U, G781U1, G981W and G780G (4G).

    US/Canada bootloader unlock thread:
    here

    Download & Guide:
    1. Unlock your bootloader.
    2. Download S20 FE 5G: r8q.
    3. Reboot to download mode and flash vbmeta_disabled.tar in AP slot and reboot. Device will reboot to stock recovery mode prompting you to wipe data so wipe data and reboot to download mode again.
    4. Put the TWRP tar for your device with Odin in the AP slot and click start.
    5. Reboot to recovery via recovery key combo.
    6. Disable encryption:
    Or:
    - Go to Advanced > Terminal, type: multidisabler.
If vendor complain about free space left on device, will attempt to resize vendor. and it ask to - Run multidisabler again!.
    - Type: multidisabler again. will see - Finished. when done.
    7. Go back to Wipe > Format Data > type yes.
    8. Reboot to recovery.
    9. Flash magisk apk in twrp.
    10. Reboot to system, Enjoy.

    Note:
    To disable encryption manually:
You need to replace fileencryption=ice with encryptable=ice only in userdata line (maybe rest lines) in vendor/etc/fstab.qcom
To avoid stock recovery restoration manually:
    Rename system/recovery-from-boot.p to recovery-from-boot.p.bak

    Support:
Live support is available via #twrp on Freenode with your IRC client or just click this link.

@afaneh92 just checking in to ask what if any sources to you want / need to help you ?
I'm on the Samsung open source site now and downloading a zip for G781BXXU2CUD1 but I've no idea if it's kernel sources inside (280mbs ish). another page I saw here mentioned using the inquiry tab to submit a request.

if you can tell me exactly what you want I'll more than happily put in a request for it, I'm sure others would too.

I'll edit this later and add the zip files full name that I've downloaded and if you want that I'll put it mediafire or similar.

SM-G781B_SEA_RR_Opensource.zip is the archive name, taken from clicking on G781BXXU2CUD1 which matches my current baseband and buildnumberView attachment 5299763
I will start working on the new kernel source soon.

@QRCode please consider making a thread about the exact method it required, resources needed and your experience with it.
this sort of thing will be useful to others. particularly of interest is the features that don't work currently.
I'll do my best still testing everything compiling my data etc
