does unlocking the bootloader and installing TWRP + magisk outweigh the benefits of not tripping KNOX for mobile banking? cus i know some of the banking apps on my old phone doesnt even want to work even with magisk DenyList and HideMyApplist (stock kernel).

Most banking apps can now be spoofed with HideMyApps, Magisk by HuskyDG, and SafetyNetPatch of Kdrag0n.
None of my apps are smarter than these.

Hi really hoping someone can help.

I followed the instructions to unlock bootloader and flash TWRP. However, on boot, the vol+/home combo doesn't work to take me into recovery. Instead I end up first with the error message 'bootloader unlocked... power key to continue' and then it does nothing until I let go of the buttons. As soon as I let go, I end up on a screen that starts with RPMB fuse set' and more stuff, with a weird DID barcode thing at the bottom right.

I can get into download mode. I did try and flash stock ROM again, and then do TWRP again, but had the same issue.

I know I'm supposed to go into TWRP before booting to system, but it simply won't get there, using combinations of plugged in/out.

Help??

I've said exactly what I'm doing, following the instructions exactly, and even said what my issue is.
1. Unlock bootloader!
2. Download vbmeta_disabled.tar, TWRP for your device.
3. Uncheck auto reboot in Odin and flash TWRP in AP slot and vbmeta_disabled.tar in USERDATA
4. Hold volume down and power until the screen goes black then immediately switch to holding volume up and power to reboot into TWRP.
5. Disable encryption:
- Go to Advanced > Terminal, type: multidisabler.
You will see " - Finished." When it is done.
6. Go to wipe, format data, and type "yes" to confirm.
7. Reboot to TWRP
8. flash custom kernel and magisk and reboot to system.

Note1: You need a custom kernel to boot with R/W vendor.
Note2: If you got bootloop on Samsung logo, reboot to TWRP and wipe datamedia from Advanced Wipe section.

Hi I followed steps 1 to 3 exactly.
At step 4, it goes black but on changing to Vol+, I couldn't get to recovery.
Not to worry, flashing DrKetan ROM solved it.
But thank you for the kind help!

I solved it by flashing DrKetan ROM via Odin instead. This thread was totally useless and your help was all of obnoxious, arrogant and patronising.
Thats why no one complained about the instructions but you, anyway dont use my twrp if you feel bad about yourself

No worries, not trying to pressure anybody. I read yesterday that TWRP for the the S23 Ultra now supports device encryption, and I wanted to make sure that I didn't miss something where the S22 Ultra supported it as well.

I'll be patiently waiting.
I dont have the S22 anymore. Its hard for me to do without device. Will take long time.

Again the same old question; Sorry !

How to correctly update to the next base without wiping the user data (Keeping Root and TWRP) ?
    • Uninstall all magisk modules if have
    • Update firmare base with odin
    • Flash TWRP (including patched vbmeta) & Kernel (You can do this along with flashing stock firmware with USERDATA tab)
    • Straightway reboot to TWRP and run multidisabler from terminal
    • Reboot to system
    Done!
    IMPORTANT :
    * You must not reboot device to system before running multidisabler.
    * This is true only in case you already have TWRP+ Multidisabler ran on existing ROM. First time using TWRP with multidisabler, you must needs to format data.
    * I strongly recommend to make backup of your data though. Sometimes changes in base itself may not allow you to dirty flash (Thanks Samsung).
