I see zips on telegram for rw. Do they work on the tab S8 can I make my system rw?

I would love to be able to make system rw. there's shealth_fix_1.0 and rw tool .3 what do they do and how do I use them?

You seem very knowledgeable when one ui 5.0 drops for WIFI is twrp, kernel, and root the same or do you have to update it?

I figure the vb meta file is the same

Im working on new twrp build, will fix the size and make it work without custom kernel. Need some time for debugging.

Awesome! If one ui 5 does come out before you finish can I just patch the AP file from firmware to root?

I don't know if I understand your directions.

Might need to reflash stock firmware to decrease vendor size if you are coming from twrp build 3 or older
Flash this tool on fresh firmware before runnung multidisabler to resize vendor (Build 3 or older)
then run multidisabler and format data
reboot to recovery and flash the tool again to resize system
on Build 4 (from androidfilehost) after running multidisabler, format reboot to twrp then flash zip

Heres what I think your saying
I would need to flash stock firmware again
before then flash twrp after setting up google acount
flash rw zip
then do
- Go to Advanced > Terminal, type: multidisabler.
If vendor complain about free space left on device, will attempt to resize vendor. and it ask to - Run multidisabler again!.
- Type: multidisabler again. will see - Finished. when done.
- Go back to Wipe > Format Data > type yes.
- Reboot to recovery.
7. Flash custom kernel and magisk apk in twrp.
8. Reboot to system, Enjoy.

If thats right I dont understand why running multidisabler before flashing rw makes system to big and how it works if flashing before multidisabler makes system size doable.

Just a yes or no if im correct is all I need

Also after flashing twrp I turn off auto reboot and hold volume down and power, when screen goes black I switch to volume up. The instructions don't say to do that. Do you not have to anymore?

can I just hold power and volume up plugged in?

The answer is Yes but if you flash it right now it doesn't because the system is to big I guess. Thats why you have to flash firmware and flash zip but before i go that route I would like to make sure I'm understanding correctly.

Do you think its possible that viper4android will work once system is RW?

Usually a permissive kernel is all you need even with Samsung. I suspect the system isn't reading the files.

I was looking at it like it was 1 word shealth and some type of zip meant to do something different. If you have a samsung phone it makes sense but I dont see why people would use it on a tablet.

Twrp works perfectly yesterday I got into a weird bootloop and I couldn't fix the problem by deleting magisk modules that I believe caused it. I restored the system, data, boot in 3 minutes and 30 seconds of 27GBs unreal fast. I have learned to use internal storage for a backup and apps and move files to Ext SD card. That way you can restore superfast.

So again thank you I'm very thankful once I actually use a piece of software. I was under the impression google was going to make everyone have to use A/B slots and every other change they made over the years. Just like Treble. Im so thankful they didn't. At first every time I screwed up my poco f3 I was forced to flash the rom zip over.

Can debloating the rom make it bootloop because its RO? I uninstalled a couple of apps with fdroid systemless debloater and it worked at first.

I have been watching the S8/S22 telegram as well and I am a little confused now. Because normally you patch the AP you extracted from the firmware with magisk and flash that with odin and your rooted. However I see people talking about patching the boot img and the vbmeta and flashing that for root. I have never seen a guide that showed to just patch boot and vbmeta although I have never looked either. Im patiently waiting for this developer to finish twrp for a13. I prefer to root it that way for a few reasons. If you flash a magisk module or lsposed module and you bootloop because Android 13 just came out so bugs will happen. How do you fix that without recovery? You would have to flash stock and do everything over again. With twrp I make backup and if I cant uninstall module, I restore backup.

Yes you can root android 13 oneui I heard on the s8 ultra use magisk canary instead of stable.

how to root it exactly I don't know at the moment what method to use.
