After updating to full OxygenOS 3.1.3 I can no longer flash this recovery does anyone have any suggestion ?
I try just like before but when I want to reboot into recovery from the OS it says "Factory device reset....rebooting"
And then it boots into OnePlus recovery :(

I was finally able to boot into recovery using "fastboot boot" and flash SuperSU like this but now I am still on stock recovery.

Good thing is that this way i hope to receive the next OTA so till then I will probably try and stay this way.
There is a setting that for some reason I can't seem to find, I thought it was in Developers Options about not using the stock recovery... if that isn't checked you will revert back to stock every boot... I'm a little verklempt that I can't find it!

I flashed the 3.1.3 "OTA" with this recovery using adb sideload. Recovery stayed, system updated. However it did break the ability to restore stock. To restore, you have to run restore as normal, then reboot into recovery and install via side load again. Recovery and all data stays in tact.

I know this was an option on the 1+1 (last phone), but I thought it was directly related to cyanogen OS in order to easily revert back to different ROM. Maybe not, idk. Just shooting some random thoughts around. All I know for sure is it isn't an option on stock oxygen 3.1.3

When you say adb aideload it agian you mean the "ota" package? And it kept data? Did it keep your lockscreen password intact?

Correct. I had to recover a botched flash. Tried to restore my backup of stock which would not boot at all (stayed on OnePlus logo for 20 minutes). Rebooted into recovery, adb sideloaded the ota, and my phone came up as normal with all data in tact. I did not have any lockscreen issues as I have learned from my past mistakes to always remove before hand, but it is worth a shot. At this point though, I'll leave that testing to someone else. I'm heading on a road trip. No more flashing for a few days. [emoji20]

One Q:
The old "orange" modified TWRP 3.0.0. (for Oxygen and Hydrogen 6.0.1 MM) does work on 1+3?
It works on 1+2, and backed up all 15 partitions (for eq: EFS too)!

Are you asking if you can restore a TWRP recovery, and 15 different partitions from a different device?
Of course not!
If you want to restore this backup, you can restore 15 different partition. (eg: aboot, bluetooth, HYP, LOGO, oem_stanvbk, pmic, rpm, slb1, SDI, tz, EFS, firmware).
They are all missing from the Grarak TWRP backup ...

OK good, you had me worried there for a second. I'm not sure about the partitions, sorry

Is there a reason twrp hasnt become official yet? Still confused why we have 3 different builds and threads on here.
I've been wondering the same thing and nobody seems to have an answer. The one that is said to eventually become official hasn't had an update in days.

Lack of an official recovery makes me hesitant to install any others as there seems to be a lack of known issues and changelogs; and without TWRP, I'm not comfortable with transferring to the OP3 as my daily.

Same here. I'm wondering though if there is any issues with just booting TWRP to flash a rom while keeping the original recovery intact?
