hi dude, your twrp is working great in all miui Oreo roms (decryption, backup and restore, survive and root) all works just fine but you need to get ready for this: bigota.d.miui.com/8.11.26/miui_MIMAX3_8.11.26_4152ab79d8_9.0.zip , survive and root works but no decryption with closed beta based on Pie, after format and reboot twrp internal shows 6013MB and after system boot it get encrypted and shows 0 MB in twrp and didn't show in PC, hope you get me well.Updated...

I know what you are talking about... TWRP needs 9.0 source switch and build with Android Pie sources and it should be fine. Piece of cake... Let's see official Pie release first as we don't know what bugs that one might have throwing me in the wrong direction...hi dude, your twrp is working great in all miui Oreo roms (decryption, backup and restore, survive and root) all works just fine but you need to get ready for this: bigota.d.miui.com/8.11.26/miui_MIMAX3_8.11.26_4152ab79d8_9.0.zip , survive and root works but no decryption with closed beta based on Pie, after format and reboot twrp internal shows 6013MB and after system boot it get encrypted and shows 0 MB in twrp and didn't show in PC, hope you get me well.
Okay Boss.Decryption:
If MIUI asks for decription password after reboot from TWRP don't panic!
You will most likely never see this but as anything in this live sh*t happens. I for example have seen this only once in hundreds of TWRP and MIUI flashings and reboots to system and it happen after reboot from MIUI OTA testing. Did I mentioned I never do clean installs? Why bother wiping if no post-install issues, right...
Anyway... here is how to get back to normal without loosing any data:
- Reboot back to recovery by pressing and holding POWER + VOLUME UP buttons
- Run Data backup in TWRP
- USB connect device to computer and copy all personal data you don't wanna loose from Internal storage to computer
- DO NOT FORGET TO COPY THE DATA BACKUP YOU JUST MADE FROM TWRP/BACKUPS/XXXXXX TO COMPUTER TOO!!!
- Click Wipe -> Format data -> type yes -> [ENTER]
- Reboot to MIUI and let it encrypt the device. You will see Setup new device wizard when its done
- Reboot back to recovery by pressing and holding POWER + VOLUME UP buttons
- Copy back all your personal data including the recent Data backup from computer to Internal storage -> TWRP/BACKUPS/XXXXXX
- Reboot recovery so TWRP can detect the Data backup you copied
- Restore Data backup and reboot to MIUI
- Done - MIUI should boot without complaining and all your data is intact... even your old lockscreen password and fingerprints should work
No, working fine you just can't install via ota unless you entered your beta testing accountBeta testers are likely to get new roms associated with their device's IMEI number. It will not work on another.
@JulianJenner , please share the 27/11 pie rom. are you in beta test team?
sorry for the OT @dev

If TWRP wasn't able to decrypt data then my decryption notes are pointless obviously...Okay Boss.
Now I try to tell my story about it short. Unfortunately I do not made recovery.log
0. I was on MIUI CHINA DEV 11.26 PIE
1. I've tried just to boot recovery. Boot OK. TWRP ask me decrypting password.
2. OK. I've installed permanently your 11.25 new recovery, replaced MiRecovery
3. Reboot recovery. TWRP ask me decrypting password.
4. Okay. Reboot system. Backup to PC my Internal Storage
5. Reboot back to recovery by pressing and holding POWER + VOLUME UP buttons
6. TWRP booted but TWRP ask me decrypting password. So I wasn't able to make backup of DATA partition
7. Never mind. Made FORMAT DATA...reboot...then made full Setup of new device wizard on MIUI
8. Reboot back to recovery by pressing and holding POWER + VOLUME UP buttons
9. You said: "...Copy back all your personal data including the recent Data backup from computer to Internal storage -> TWRP/BACKUPS/XXXXXX..." BUT!!!! TWRP ask me decrypting password. And it can not see Internal Storage again.
Okay, I've reinstalled MiRecovery...at least I thought about that.
Did I make a mistake?
Cheers! And thanks your continous work.
P.S: New experience
10. After reinstall MiRecovery, system rebooted normally. Today I got 11.27 OTA but MiRecovery does not able to install it.
11. MIUI download 11.27 full ROM...but MiRecovery does not able to install it.
Here is the log / cache / recovery / last_logThis is getting frustrating... I keep reading for decryption issues with latest Xiaomi updates and nobody provides logs... If you guys want bugs fixed help me here, please.
Don't make me beg for your help to help you...
I can easily say basta and stop sharing any of my work in the feature...
And then go ask again why there is no any development work fo Mi Max 3...!?
That really helped, thaks...Here is the log / cache / recovery / last_log
The problem with the decoding on the latest update of 8.11.27 (Android 8.1)
https://4pda.ru/forum/dl/post/14549578/last_log.txt
This is the first update on which decryption has broken. More OTA did not checkThat really helped, thaks...
Decryption was actually successful but for some weird reason TWRP didn't think so and falling back to default decrypt method which of course always fails...
Will fix it first thing when get back home which might take a while.
BTW does the OTA update installs automatically and reboots or fails and you have to install it manually? Asking b/c my OTA testing involves a little hacking which why my test fails. Just want to confirm nothing is broken in TWRP code as it looks like it...
I have Android Oreo (8.1)Looks like Pie decryption works just fine after all according to few users reports...
Waiting for data formating conformation and Pie ability to encrypt it again...
