I'm curious what extra patches are required to fix the source code to make TWRP work for the v500. Since the official source is actually for palman devices. Do I just need to replace "palman" with "awifi" in a Makefile or something? Changes to BoardConfig.mk?
Where's the official source? Is it the one here? https://github.com/victormlourenco/android_device_lge_v500-twrp

Firstly make sure the prebuilt kernel is the right one for the v500, not one for the v510.

Try install 3 time, same result : enable to swype.

It's a problem with ui,
with standard ui, it's working.

hello
here is my conf.
V500 20d
towelroot
twrp 2.8.6.0 using flashify
reboot in recovery mode using flashify

I tried to flash lollipop aosp for my device ang got a loki error.

If I undertood well it is due to the fact I installed twrp from a 20d instead of 10a.
so i need to install aboot 10a using twrp then reinstall twrp using twrp then reflash lollipop aosp.
am i right ?
if yes, where can I find 10a aboot zip file so that I can flash it to my device in twrp mode ??
thanks;)

But you didn't unlock the bootloader means you can't flash.
is the loki thing needed if I am on 4.4.2 ? exactly same question like the guy on previous page but I was rooted for few months (rooted of course)
download recovery
flash using flashify
install rom (v500) will it work? or this loki thing is really really needed? thanks. :)

Loki is always needed to install custom ROMs and custom recoveries. You need to have a aboot.img from 4.2.2 stock image for Loki to work.

Loki is built into the flashable zip files and also built into Flashify. You don't need to worry about finding it.. you just need to worry about having an aboot.img that works with it.
I see. So do i have to look for a rom with aboot.img? Thanks for your time.

You can downgrade to 4.2.2 stock rom (which has the correct version of aboot.img) or you can search the forum here for a script that will flash the correct aboot.img to your current version of firmware. After that, you can install Flashify and use that to install TWRP. Once you have TWRP installed, then you can flash away.

Downgrading to 4.2.2 means you have to root over again to install Flashify.
