somethings wrong -_-

I've already used this once on my SE x10mini pro U20i 2.1.1.A.0.6 , worked perfectly fine .

yesterday , I've bricked the phone , re-updated it to get it to workd again .

and whatever I do I can't access xRecovery menu again !
rooted with superoneclick , installed busybox with flashtools (confirmed with busybox installer) , remount /rw those three files , and,.. :( nothing !

With 0.2.7 beta, xRecovery should work and you should even be able to reboot into recovery from the flashtool (Advanced->xRecovery->Reboot into recovery)

quick question

Hello there,

I have a small question about xrecovery installation.
In /system/bin I allready have busybox and chargemon listed.
I installed busybox using BusyBox Installer.
Do I have to actually replace those two with the ones in the xrecovery archive
or do I just leave the ones on the phone?

Thanx a lot
cris

yes, xrecovery will need the modified chargemon for it to work.

there is also a workaround now if you want to charge with your phone turned off.

Works perfectly fine with for example the Busybox that Titanium downloads as well, no real need for Market Busybox.

thanks!!!!

OK, I have managed to get it working.

I decided to explore the 'unrar' process a bit more. I was previously running 7zip 9.17. I have a Windows XP 32 bit machine.

I downloaded the latest version of 7zip, which is 9.20. Then I downloaded the package again in the 1st post, extracted the package and followed the steps again making sure the permissions were set correctly. I now have a working xrecovery and am about to explore some new ROMs!

Thanks

OMG! Ive been researching for 5/6 hours now how to get this to work! I was using winrar which appears to cause the same issue as the old 7zip.

Would anyone else recommend this? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=961707

Thanks so much!

Credits and special thanks to everyone involved in Cyanogenmod project!

    How?
Press BACK button few times right after white SE logo appears.

    Controls:
Use VOLUME-UP and VOLUME-DOWN to browse, HOME to select, BACK to go back.

    Features:

    • ADB root shell
    • Reboot
    • Install update.zip from SD Card
    • Factory reset (full wipe)
    • Wipe cache partition
    • Install custom zip
    • Backup and Restore
    • Partition tools
      • Mount/unmount partitions
      • Format partitions
      • Mount as USB Storage
    • Advanced options
      • Wipe Dalvik cache
      • Wipe battery stats
      • Fix permissions for apps (FC fix)

    Automatic Installation (recommended):
    To be announced

    Manual Installation:
    - Download and unpack the recovery package
    - use Root Explorer to remount /system rw
    - copy the content of the package (3 files) into /system/bin folder

    Notes:
Please bear in mind that it's not the regular android recovery (we cannot replace recovery image without cracked bootloader). Instead, the boot hijacking is used to start recovery mode. You still need basic files on your /system partition to use this. NEVER use the "format /system" option (it's there only to check if anyone reads this long, boring note).

This recovery is NOT tested for compatibility with app2sd! Use at your own risk.

This recovery WILL be used to flash custom roms easily.

DO NOT reinstall busybox. Recovery depends on it's particular busybox version.

    Requirements:
    1. Phone must be rooted
    2. Busybox from the market installed

You could try backup option though.. No more SEUS! Just restore through the recovery!

:-O you're right man! I'll definitely try it now :D I have apps2sd enabled so I dont know the outcome, so say I try to install this whilst apps2sd enabled, is there any way it could totally brick my device?

Nope! App2sd restored perfect on me!
