Every ROM haves the kernel included of course
And every ROM for this.model uses stock prebuilt kernel, as ASUS as not provided proper kernel sources... (Well Asus did provided two kernel sources. But they are "fake" , aka, those are just an generic kernel SoC source...)
Still not getting what's the issue, and no, very unlikely to be an recovery issue or ROM issue... Over the last 3 years many users , flashed this ROMs.
Maybe you have a slightly different hardware revision?

okay so i have only 2 options i can think of:
1- compile the kernel source that Asus has provided me into a zImage file then put it in the booi.img file in one of the ROMs (but you say they're fake, would u elaborate more?!)
2- flash one of the ROMs on their website for other MeMo pad versions (ME176C, ME175CG, ME171C, ME170C, ME176C)
Do you think that that'll work?
