Updates on lineageOS lollipop

- Sound is now fully working ( it wasn't )
- headphones are working
- Offline charging working ( some stuff still needs to be tidy up)
- WiFi ( been the worst thing until now) , is more stable (still not perfect) but its now usable and connection doesn't drop now (9/10 times)
There's still an issue where after disconnecting and reconnecting WiFi you may need to do an reboot .
- WiFi WPA supplicant is now being built from source and working alright (no more prebuilt stuff)
-Fixed some crash's related to EGL ( games would crash) hardware composer is still not working properly , been around this now
-GPS now working
-Some other small bugs fixed as well

First public release isn't so far now

Hi. I'm trying to do this to mine, but I can't get through this part. It's so many things I must confess I'm super lost, been at this for hours lol.

Anyway, i'm new to all of this so i may not even have the required download files, but i think i do.

I got the flash tool, I'm in, i can do everything until this point, i cannot find the "sro-default-lock-sign.img" file, and i cant find a folder called "signed-bin".

Am I doing something wrong? I hope it's just me being a noob and it's right there in front of me and I just can't see it

In this thread you will find my custom ROMs and Recoverys for the ASUS Memo PAD HD 7.
You'll also find how to Unlock the bootloader (mandatory to flash any custom Recovery and Rom)
Please be sure to read (and re-read) this carefully in order to avoid unnecessary questions.

My Custom ROMs / Recoverys and also the provided Stock Rom will work on both 8 GB / 16GB WW and US Models
(The RU Model is also supported, however with limited GPS support)

In addition to the ROM changelog:
External SDCard: as I said it can cause random reboots, also if you reboot the TAB it can cause bootloops,in this case just remove the SDCard and the TAB will boot just fine. Last case scenario, remove the SDCard and wipe dalvik
Benchmarks: Well its noticeable the increase in speed and less RAM usage on the AOSP Betas.
Some guys are asking me why the Antutu scores are so similar with the stock Asus/And my custom ROM?
Well you should check the ram usage/FPS between the ROMs And since the Aosp doesn't fully support the external SDCard, this will give about less 2k on Antutu scores (Storage IO / database IO)
So... If you really want to compare Antutu scores, remove your External SDCard from the stock Asus/ V1.1r2 Roms.

I am interested in updating two black ASUS MEMOPAD ME173X 16gb tablets that my wife and I bought in 2014, and that are no longer wanting to be of any use since their Android version is 4.2.2. I contacted ASUS and they tell me there is nothing they can do about it. That the tablets are like this with that version of Android. Reading your contribution, which I thank infinitely, I am somewhat lost since I do not know what are the steps and files that I must work to update them as much as possible. I would appreciate if you could give me the directions as a primary school child. I have average knowledge at the computer level, but at the tablet level I am not that understood. Awaiting a prompt and satisfactory response from you, greetings and thanks.

Check if you downloaded the zip file "Stock+Asus+Rom-and-bootloader.zip". Inside this ZIP, there are 3 other ZIP files. One of them ("ME173X_WW_user_4.2.4.06716_20130918.zip"), contains the folder/file that you need.

You have the instructions on post #2 and #3, and download links on post #4.
Just download the required zip files and follow the instructions (the pictures help a lot!).

Regarding which "options" to go for (because there are multiple ROMs and recoveries), I would suggest choosing the latest ones. Once you unlock the bootloader and install the recovery, you are free to swap the ROM whenever you want (by simply copying the ROM zip into the internal memory and flashing it in the recovery, no need for all of those steps anymore). For example, you can use another ROM that OP created with Android 6 (instead of JB 4.4.2, like the ones in post #4), it is available right here.

So, make sure to download the following (from post #4): "Unlock_Bootloader+install_Recovery.zip" and "Stock+Asus+Rom-and-bootloader.zip" (these two are needed, regardless of the ROM/recovery you choose)
Then, get the ROM "AOSP JB4.2.2 (20160929)" (linked in post #1) and Recovery "Carliv Touch Recovery (CWM 6.0.4.4) v2.5" (linked in post #4), as they seem to be the most up-to-date.
After that, read post #2 and #3 completely before doing anything (maybe just open the program and the folders to get yourself acquainted and make sure you have all of the necessary things).

Good night superdragonpet. Thank you very much for your advice and instructions. I was already able to update it to OP's Lineage you suggested. First I followed all the steps in post #2, #3 and #4 and then I followed the steps in [ROM] [UNOFFICIAL] LineageOS 13 |ASUS Memo Pad HD 7 (me173x) [MT8125] and installed it. Too bad the camera doesn't work, but hey, at least it has Android 6. I'll wait for someone to prepare Lineage 18 with the latest Android to install it to see if I can update it as much as possible. Thank you very much for your attention and advice. They came perfect for me. Thank you.

It's working but sometimes the site does that. Try refreshing, incognito mode or using a different browser/device.
