yeah, but they are rounded to the point of cutting stuff off. is there no 3rd party thing i can do to fix this?

There is no option to have the resolution changed to have rounded corners, personally i dont like it either, but you are only losing a tiny fraction of the screen at each corner which normally holds no information.

I would have prefered if it didnt take up so much screen real estate.

But for android, and every single app that you use seperately would need to be re programmed with a different aspect ratio with curved corners, and i doubt all those devs would change apps just to suit our phone.

The images you provided are clear examples thst you are losing literally no data with having the corners taken off. So except for accepting what you have there is nothing anyone else could do.

Yeah. On china version, with the nubia skin. I would love to use the stock android R on my nubia z20. I already tried it on a gsi rom but it is unusable. Are you able to do anything for us? Copy paste all the dual screen modules from android 9 and paste them on android R. Is it possible? Thanks

Installed latest v.8.11 (NA) rom.

Issues I'm still seeing:

Google Phone app still doesn't use correct ringtones and instead uses notification sounds for calls.

Still no support for Google AR services (for a gaming phone this just seems wrong).

No dual app support.

Can't set live wallpapers (or such apps) for the lock screen or even use the included dynamic wallpapers.

Other than that, keep up the good work!

Also happy to see AAC codec support for Bluetooth audio.

rooted phone
or
Flashing wrong region
or
unlocked bootloader
these are some of the reason zips and updates may not flash.

can you tell me what OS version you're on, and what zip you're trying to install.

In the game launcher, choose the icon on the top right that looks like person.

In the options that appear, choose basic on the left and then scroll through the options on the right - you should see the ludicrous mode toggle.

Hello guys, so I've had my Red Magic 5G for just about a year now. And to be honest, it's been almost floorless. Mine is the EN version and just saw there was an update for it. Sweet, haven't seen an update in a while so glad to see it. It all went well and seems to be fine except for one thing. It may be one thing but it's really annoying and hard to miss/ignore it. It's Instagram. Seems to be stuck on 60Hz. I've switched the whole phone to 60Hz and all looks the same, then I put it back on 144Hz (what I always have it on) and jump back to Instagram and I notice it changes to 60Hz. It still says 144Hz on the top but it really isn't, I can definitely fell it. Will this be fixed? Hope I gave you an insight to a floor I found and that you guys can patch/fix this problem because I use Instagram quite alot and it's hard to just deal with it, especially before when it was working on 144Hz. Really is hard to go back, isn't it haha. Thanks, kind regards.

somehow you softbricked your device.

you can either use Johnny's unbrick tool to recover your device, or use my TWRP / Root guide in my Signature below to put TWRP onto your device and flash your phone again.

Both options will wipe your data. i'm afraid there is no option to get your data back at this stage.

I would recommend the TWRP option, as my guide will not unlock your bootloader, and allow you to use TWRP to format any corrupt partitions and reinstall your rom.
