neither - with the sp-flash tool (that comes with the rom) you can flash it on a regular device. just be careful with the instructions (uncheck bootloader & preloader!)
i've used the quakze 7.2.5 rom for a while now, it's pre-rooted and has great features integrated (also a little bloat..)!

for most other roms (like cm12.1) you'll need an unlocked bootloader and costum recovery

The first post updated, now the link is working for 7.2.5 - only the latest one is working by quakze, it seems that he is deliberately removing older versions.

Ciao, sembra che xiaomi.eu e miui.it facciano solo versioni flashabili con TWRP. Io ho sbloccato, ma non credo valga la pena... Sono poi comunque tornato alla versione moddata da quakze, 6.4.7 del primo post.
In questo LINK sembra invece che venga offerta una versione pulita, global, moddata solo per poter essere flashata anche con SP flashtool.

RN3Pro (snapdragon): hybrid slot up to 128gb - you loose the second SIM if used for SD.

Ich glaube es war das klasische miui browser. Nichts is gesagt von einem anderen browser, so ich glaube es wird dasselbe browser wie in 7.1.3 official stable. Oder? (PS: wer wird Präsident? )

I flashed yesterday this rom successfully.

But,
now Mi Could is not working, do you know a way to fix this pls? I tried re-log reboot ten times nothing. Always I got the msg Mi Cloud has shopped.

Added the [ROM] [MTK] Epic Rom Pro 6.5.26 by Jamflux,HombreIlusorio, and MrRaines (MrTomatico) to the first post. It is announced to be the last version of MIUI 7 by MrRaines. No evident bugs, very good performance and battery life. Keyboard from ANDROID N.

EDIT: Added the [MIUI 8] by MrRainers/MrTommatico, very similar to the previous Epic Rom.

I am installing the miui 8 by MrRainers, on a redmi note 3 whose boot is locked. (non twrp version rom)

I have installed the windows 10 drivers via the link.

I have boot, userdata, cache and system checked, but it is already at 30+ minutes and still has not finished. the phone is connected and the red bar is full. how long will it take??
