(Feature request + bug) Device encryption?

In previous versions of this rom there was n option to encrypt the phone.
In this one I can't find it.
It would be extremely useful! :)

+ BUG: Adding a custom launcher to autostart doesn't allow to choose it as default

please give me a solution. I have a error while flashing sp tool.
BROM ERROR: S_FTHND_FILE_IS_NOT_LOADED_YET(5007)
there is file not loaded yet
HINT:
1. please check if the DA path is correct.
2. please check if all the ROM files exist.
3. please check if the scatter file description is sync with the exist ROM file.

same problem. tried XIAOMI.EU MIUI7 v7.2.5 modded, but on flash it says that. drivers seem properly installed, no unknown devices.

Edit: Loxars 7.1.8.0 modded works. No Idea why the other one wouldnt install.

if you have twrp installed and you have backed up everything you could flash the zip. i'm almost certain it will NOT boot but why not try it... even if it fails recovery should still be accessible and you can then restore the backup

Hello all Redmi Note 3 MTK user :))
I am learning about the Hennesy (mine is octacore MTK 2 gb of ram)Device to flash with locked Bootloader and stuff like that. It is really difficult because there are a lot of global dev an orgig. chineses Roms in the internet.
So i have a few questions which i want to ask here if you do not mind.....
1. The epic rom from the first post is the latest stable one which is without bloatware and multi language?
2. In the head line of the thread , i read "ROOT" . Does it mean this rom has got root after installing/flashing with the flash tool without unlocking the bootloader?
3. The updates are not comming ota ? I have to make them manualy with flash tool?
4. MIUI8 means allways Android 6 is used/ included?
Thank you for your time an reading :)

Sorry for my grammatical and bad written english.:))

sincerealy :)

one at a time,
so 1) epic rom is pretty good (takes stock china rom, adds gapps, removes china, adds languages), another option is the rom from mr anderson aragao (it's a port of the miui global standard to the phone) - i used both, can't really tell which is best, they're both good roms.
2) you should not try to instlal either of them without an unlocked bootloader and a good recovery installed first... or i wouldn't. without twrp you can't take a proper backup of your current rom in case you run into problems. xiaomi.eu comes with root builtin, so yes, the phone should be rooted once that is installed. beware that locked bootloader and root are not the same thing. the rom from anderson does not come with root builtin (like global rom). xiaomi.eu (epic) does as the china rom has builtin root.
3) only the official roms support ota updates. no way around that.
4) miui8 does not mean the phone gets android 6. the mtk is still on lollipop. the miui version is not dependent on the android behind it. there are even some kitkat android phones running miui8.

if you're gonna install epic rom there are newer version on hte miui forum http://en.miui.com/thread-441617-1-1.html or http://en.miui.com/thread-450535-1-1.html and this is the latest from anderson: http://en.miui.com/thread-434265-1-1.html and http://en.miui.com/thread-336480-1-1.html (stables and latest dev rom). beware only epic dev rom has builtin rom!

Hello :)
Thank you for your detailed answer. So i have to think mor and read more about unlocking the bootloader and install trwp first. To your point 2. i read somewhere that root is only possible with an unlocked bootloader ......... I could not belive that,so thats the reason i have asked.

first thing, you should request the unlock permission on en.miui.com , that takes longer up to 10 days. and read on while that processes. you can req the permission and not unlock if you think it's not for you. the permission is on the xioami account and lets you unlock any time you want, 2 times per month i think.

just to be clear, xiaomi.eu (epic rom) dev version comes with root even if you dont unlock first! so does the china standard dev rom. the reason you want the unlock is for a proper recovrry - see twrp. once you have that it's far easier to switch roms, flash, restore, backup, root etc

Hi All,

Which xposed is it for this ROM.

I tried SDK 21, Arm64, is that correct?

I flashed this one using TWRP but it gets into a boot loop.

If you are on MIUI rom, try with solarwarez apk and zip installer mod for MIUI one
The sdk and arch64 is correct

    [ROM] [DEV] Xiaomi.eu 6.1.21

Direct download link 6.1.21 with CenterClockMod

    Installation
Follow the guide on the bottom of this post. You dont need unlocked bootloader, you just need a PC with drivers and sp flashtool. The flashtool is present in every ROM release.
The drivers were present in earlier releases, like SphinX down below.
If you are flashing xiaomi.eu for the first time (or after some other buged rom), make a clean flash of latest original chinese/english version and then flash xiaomi.eu. (at least thats what LoXar is suggesting on the original forums in case of some problems). I personally have flashed the first developer by loxar directly over latest SphinX... and every update afterwards just SYSTEM, leaving userdata and settings intact. Works flawless. Anyway, if you should have some problems with the rom, a clean flash is recomended.

SphinX (seems to be outdated now)
Here is a custom rom made by ManhIT (v2a and v2b) and nguyentankiet (v1c and v1d) from official beta testing team china.
You can flash without problems using a flashtool included in the package. You need to install the drivers first - you will find them in the package too. You dont need to unlock bootloader, so you dont invalidate warranty.
As allways, the flash is on your own risk, nobody else may be held responsible if something goes wrong and the phone gets bricked.

It can be installed from any version, with or without Root!

[ROM] [Stable] SphinX V1d - MIUI7 V7.0.22.0 Global, Multi Language, SuperSU - description and instal guide
Direct download link of the ROM
Multilanguage, without chinese apps garbage, with complete google apps.

    Installation instructions
    - Unzip the downloaded file
    - On PC install the 2 driver files for windows drivers MTK (for windows 10 take windows 10 drivers).

    - On computer, run as administrator Flash_Tool.exe file from the flashtool folder contained in the zip. To run as admin, right-click and run as administrator.
    - On Flash Tool:
Click "Download Agent" and select file DA_SWSEC.bin
Click "Scatter-loarding", chose Images folder, select file MT6795_Android_scatter.txt
    - Then remove the tick "preloader" there will remain tick on boot, recovery, system, cache, userdata as on the picture below.
(this is very important, and do not tick it!) View fix method if you forgotten http://en.miui.com/thread-198856-1-1.html
(If you are flashing the rom by quakze with TWRP recovery, uncheck RECOVERY if you dont have unlocked bootloader. And if you dont want the marshmallow bootanimation, uncheck boot as well, leaving just SYSTEM checked, to maintain userdata. If you are comming from a ROM other than xiaomi.eu or original, make a clean flash with userdata checked - a "factory reset" will occur.)
    flashtoolIMG.jpg

    - Turn off the phone completely. Unplug it from PC if usb was connected before.
    - Click the "Download" button on Flash Tool.
    - On phone: press and hold the Volume down button and plug in the USB cable

    > on the bottom of the flashtool you will see the progress, first fast one in red color (now you can release the VOLUME DOWN button), then slow yellow advancement.
    181707va8rfzajuf2ucf2q.png.thumb.jpg

    When finished, you will see:
    181744mg7vg7gugbvf9rx9.png.thumb.jpg

Now you can exit the flashtool and unplug and start the phone. First boot may take several minutes (not more than 10 min though, if you stick there for a looong time, retry the flash once more and pay attention to all the steps - untick preloader and tick boot, recovery, system, cache, userdata.

On SphinX: During the first SETUP choose ENGLISH language, otherwise you will have problems with cloud. After the initial setup, you may take any language you like.

    BUGS:
If you want the developers to know, tell them on the miui forum (link above the direct download shortcut)

All works perfectly on this ROM ;) Totally recommend it!

Added the [ROM] [MTK] Epic Rom Pro 6.5.26 by Jamflux,HombreIlusorio, and MrRaines (MrTomatico) to the first post. It is announced to be the last version of MIUI 7 by MrRaines. No evident bugs, very good performance and battery life. Keyboard from ANDROID N.

EDIT: Added the [MIUI 8] by MrRainers/MrTommatico, very similar to the previous Epic Rom.

Haha, i sold my IPhone 6 plus and i bought this phone...
but how to make clean flash using Flash tool? I don't know what to check.
In SP Flash tool load the scatter file and just untick preloader. Leave the Rest as it is.
This writes the whole Rom. If that not solve your Problem, try another sphinx. V1d also worked well. Last way is to unlock the Bootloader, as i wrote and Flash whatever you wan't. Xiaomi.EU Firmware or miuipro.ru
