Hi all I am Alfas Peralassery and today I am going to teach you how to reduce the size of an apk formated app .
Are you having problems getting under the current 50 MB upload limit imposed by Android Market™?. Don't worry you are at the right place .
What's is APK ?
+++++++++++++
Like Exe in windows Apk is the app format in android world . Basically apk is a zip file .
Here I am not introducing an app for this operation . Because after a bit of Googling I realized there is no app for this .
I have 4 instructions for reduce the size of an app .
1 . Check all the file formats in the resources . Data size may changes in different file formats .
Eg :- For pictures PNG format is the commonly used lossless format . But when we using big pictures Jpeg format can be used .
2 . Delete all unimportant/unuse resources before compiling . (unimportant resources may increase the size of app and makes your app laggy )
3 . Remove all debugging information . It is a better way to decrease app size .
4 . Do a super zipping of files before signing . (super means high quality zip file . This can reduce the file size more than normal zipping)
[Winrar and ES file explorer can be used for zipping in windows and Android respectively .]
Ask any questions about this thread . I will help you as fast I can .
Hope I helped . So don't forgot to click thanks . :thumbup:
