I would not say that, evenbif you are not using the phone, without ultra battery saver or airplane mode your phone keeps consuming too much for just being idle (around 1.5% or 2% hour which is way too much in my humble opinion). Those tricks are needed if you want your SoT as much effective as possible. You can't go near that 8/9h SoT without that.
Good morning,

it seems my battery has doubled or close. I've tested it with 12hours since 100% to 50% at this current moment, a heavy use (almost 2 hours mobile legends, and an hour of facebook and WhatsApp) with SOT right now of 3hours. which is way better than before, i'll keep going to the rest of the day with this 50% and see what will I achieve, i believe i can pass 7hours SOT easily with normal use during the day at work (no mobile legends).

my IDLE consumption remained the same with 5% over 7-8hours.

i'll see how I go to the rest of the day without additional charge, but seriously, I am so optimistic.

I still have most of google services, like Gmail, wearos, Google app, calender, google one, Fit, news, drive, due, games, find my device, youtube, and youtube music. all of them with no background activity except for gmail, fit, wearos and find my device.

Other apps, outlook, WhatsApp with optimised battery, and everything else no background activity.

Did you apply any particular trick? Personally I few hours ago applied the magisk script to optimize Google services and starting from tomorrow I will track the new usage. I am right now at 50% Battery. AP mode and UBS have been used during working hours. I have made many phone calls and browser activity. This is the state today

4h SoT is spectacular at 50% considering the phone has been used with a mix of 5g and 4g throughout the day. anyway I expect the max I can reach now is 8h as from 50% going down the battery drains a bit faster. But I am very happy now. And Xiaomi Services Framework is still installed. This is also the figure of the battery drain during working hours with battery tricks

Another figure here, 1 more hour SoT from 50% to 42% (in 4g area, even though prefer 5g is activated). With this projection (1h SoT every 8%) I should completely drain my battery at the amount of 10+ hours

Btw, I noticed that your kiwi browser is draining much of battery, in 52mins in a previous photo it drained 2735mAh. While chrome for me drained 400mAh in 20mins. You should reconsider, right now I am testing edge.

I see that, I am using Kiwi because it has a built in AD blocker. What would you recommend?

I am not the right person to ask, I've been using Chrome for a long while, tried edge for a period which was amazing, then switched back to chrome when I faced few bugs in edge (they were really annoying but fixed now). So I literally just switched back to edge to test how is it going.

Firefox or a modified open source Mozilla broswer: Mull.
https://github.com/Divested-Mobile/Mull-Fenix

Firefox based Android web browser can install uBlock Origin, the popular powerful adblocker on PC web browser.

Be ware, adblock function itself may need additional calculation, so maybe will use more battery power, not a definite though.

Close unused tabs as well, or at least bookmark to read later. Each time the browser starts, it will load every tabs, which uses battery power.

Try and error, life is just like this.

Nothing is perfect, everything comes at a price.

I've just installed Firefox which is now undertesting,so far seems much lighter than Kiwi, this may result in a better battery life throughout phone usage, looking forward to report

Honestly I didn't like Firefox, the usual web pages I visit were showing rendering errors, plus it was much slower than kiwi in rendering pages, so I uninstalled it. Maybe should I try Opera?

What adblock way do you want?

  • If you want strictly using uBlock Origin, only Kiwi, Firefox and Yandex.

  • If you just need anything that can do adblock, many of the browsers now have ad block built-in, but not all have the same ad blocking abilities.

Vivaldi, Opera, Opera GX, Edge, Brave, Via, Bromite, Kiwi...

  • If you want system-wide adblock, AdGuard, Blokada, AdAway, DNS66...

Try and error. Find the one you like.

I feel pretty good with Kiwi before realising it is way too much consuming, I tried Firefox with Ublock origin but rendering wasn't as accurate as kiwi and also slower

Use the Samsung Internet Beta with any ad block plugin (there are many, you can also have more plugins active at the same time).
IMHO the best browser overall.

Where can I find it? Simply Play Store? May I ask why the beta and not the normal one?

I am writing from this Samsung browser now even though I installed the stable and not the beta(what is the difference?). First thing I don't like is that the adblock ad on is installed as an external app

It's not exactly a stand-alone app, it's a plugin specific for the Samsung browser.

The beta app is months ahead of the standard version, I mean the beta becomes the standard after some time.
Both the beta and the standard can be installed together at the same time.

Which one is the fastest in your opinion? I think kiwi is still slightly faster than this Samsung browser, at a higher battery cost obviously. Regards the plug in, yes I know but it appears in the app drawer as a stand alone app (you just modify the settings ).

It definitely seems to consume less battery than kiwi thought.n

Use the Hidden Settings for MIUI app on the Google Play store to disable all the apps that cannot be disabled through the normal app menu (no root required):

Thanks, honestly I reinstalled Xiaomi services framework, Xiaomi services framework keeper and Xiaomi SIM activation services. As I thought uninstalling the framework breaks Mi music by showing on the rear screen to get controlled and I assume other hidden functionalities, I don't recommend then to debloat that since in terms of battery life it doesn't give much of juice. I do suggest getting to this point to start activating the battery saving options to save up more than this. For example yesterday over 12 hours overnight drain with the framework still active I had 97% battery and this morning without the framework I had over 8hours 99% so I don't think having the framework makes too much of a difference despite what it breaks and/or may break. I think also that it may affect MIUI optimizations and so the reactivity of the system, so I suggest you guys leaving those 3

I think I got almost a perfect status and balance between idle drain, debloating and phone functionality

First of all you must have your phone rooted and use the magisk module "debloat". I so far debloated these apps
    56172.jpg

Thanks to this my ROM became really light already, security app boost only register few apps in background and most of the time doesn't even register a 'your phone is now X% faster" .

This is the drainage so far. Phone disconnected from charging at 2pm or something

    Screenshot_2021-07-02-23-23-35-081_com.miui.securitycenter.jpg

I had a whatsapp video call for almost 20minutes (one of the most expensive battery draining anctivity) and few hours of idling

After debloating remember to go into app
    And force stop the following
    Google play services
    Carrier Services
    Xiaomi Services framework
    Xiaomi Services framework keeper
    Google play services keeper
    Google play store
    Xiaomi Sim activation service

Now clear their cache and data and reboot your phone

Now run terminal emulator and type

    su

    Then type

    cmd package bg-dexopt-job

Now wait for "success" to show this will optimize your apps

Now you can also go into battery and reatrict background activity for all the apps you want
Then you can disable into apps for the background data usage for all the apps you want

Then you can go further and go into privacy->special permission->battery optimization and optimize the apps and process you want
Then deactivate all the functionalities you don't use, like backups, find device etc.

Go into usage access and disable so for Google play services and other stuff like xiaomi services and miui

Go into privacy and security->authorization and revocation-> and stop the apps you want

And this is pretty much so, obviously for my type of usage

You can go further by reducing refresh rate to 90hz (check guides here) but I don't do so, or prefer lower data speeds such as lte/4g or even less (5g is pretty expensive but I don't do it)
Technical wise I don't disable or reduce these functionalities because it is the reason why I bought this phone so it wouldn't make sense but feel free to use these tricks as well if you want

I was worried about battery in idle, but this is behavior on EU Rom 12.5.11. On chinese ROM, it was the same. In 16 hours just 1% of battery is drained.
I am aware of the apps I put on my phone and Facebook, Whatsapp atc. have close doors :)
