Which one is the fastest in your opinion? I think kiwi is still slightly faster than this Samsung browser, at a higher battery cost obviously. Regards the plug in, yes I know but it appears in the app drawer as a stand alone app (you just modify the settings ).

It definitely seems to consume less battery than kiwi thought.n

Via Browser is the smallest file size browser at the moment with only 1.5 MB.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=mark.via.gp&hl=en&gl=US

It make use of the built-in app Android System WebView to achieve small app size.

Personally didn't try it, so no sure how fast it will be.

Kiwi browser has an update recently, so you may also try update it.

I've tested edge now for a while, just basic without adblocker and it is waaaaay better and faster than chrome. Nearly 1/5th or even less of the power of chrome.

Give it a shot. You might like it

Well I could, I must say that Samsung browser is quite nice, it's a bit more refined than kiwi (which is basically chrome with an adblocker),seems to consume slightly less battery and being on pair with kiwi in terms of speed (slightly slower but just on some websites)

Anyway I believe that the most battery consuming activity is due to 5g, yesterday I spent a day outside with heavy use of Google Maps , few phone calls and mix of 4/5g and phone battery from 100% to 0% lasted roughly 10hours with 6h SoT, my previous screen has been taken with mostly 4g where I had 4+hs of SoT at 50% battery

Personally I find Kiwi still the best in terms of performance and usability, samsung browser might consume less battery (I'm not sure of this actually as I had similar results in terms of SoT with kiwi and Samsung),but it loads slower on cold boot and loads web slower, also is more than 600MB app and needs external app as add on. I Tried Edge as well but I didn't like, I couldn't switch to home without hitting the menu botton and I couldn't add fast links to the home page.

Just to keep you updated. Battery drain is indeed very good and looks to improve the more I use it.

I am not even close to what are you achieving, i'll give more details of what I've done so if you got a chance to guide me through it please?

btw, its almost a week without xiaomi services and sim activation, I can just say everything is going perfect. but maybe worth mentioning my sims are already pre activated. not sure if it would cause any issues if I put new sims.

Honestly regarding Sim activation I never managed to make it work. To achieve what I do you must be really accurate in switching on and off ultra battery saver and airplane mode, as I said I use both overnight and when I work, and I use ultra battery saver as lock screen, I have a book cover so what I do when I want to lock the device, I click on ultra battery saver in the control center and close the cover (the phone will lock itself in 15sec). With this system basically I achive depending on usage between 6:30/8h SoT

I was worried about battery in idle, but this is behavior on EU Rom 12.5.11. On chinese ROM, it was the same. In 16 hours just 1% of battery is drained.
I am aware of the apps I put on my phone and Facebook, Whatsapp atc. have close doors :)

And this without airplane mode or ultra battery saver? Incredible, what are your settings? Seems like you have dark mode activated right?

I use airplane mode from midnight to 7am, then it's full on - wifi on etc. All 16 hours were idle, so I woudn't do anything with the phone.

Once I start using it, it's different story, but I'm satisfied too. Yes I use dark mode, Full HD only and since I'm using the phone mainly for testing videos (McPro24FPS), I use 60 Hz instead of 120, which is a shame, but I need every bit of a power :)

Without using Airplane mode + UBS I cannot achieve those results, power on I use it maxed out (5g, light mode, 120hz, wqhd+ no battery saver), and I get 8SoT easily

That's ironic though.. Brave is the only browser with such and amazing adblock built in :)
The idea is that when a company put ads in website, you see the ads and they are getting paid (the site owner). But with brave they cut the middle man and basically tells you, you can CHOOSE to watch ads, and YOU will get paid (in BAT) for it. You can just decide not to participate and then you just get ad-free browser. No youtube ads, no ads anywhere..and without rooting the phone.

PS, you can configure the home page in the settings.

No I cannot choose my favourite on the main page and kiwi browser does the same, adblock with no root (I have root anyway)

Did you apply any particular trick? Personally I few hours ago applied the magisk script to optimize Google services and starting from tomorrow I will track the new usage. I am right now at 50% Battery. AP mode and UBS have been used during working hours. I have made many phone calls and browser activity. This is the state today

View attachment 5372189

4h SoT is spectacular at 50% considering the phone has been used with a mix of 5g and 4g throughout the day. anyway I expect the max I can reach now is 8h as from 50% going down the battery drains a bit faster. But I am very happy now. And Xiaomi Services Framework is still installed. This is also the figure of the battery drain during working hours with battery tricks

BOOM!
What magisk module was it that optimizing google services?

Use the Hidden Settings for MIUI app on the Google Play store to disable all the apps that cannot be disabled through the normal app menu (no root required):

Thanks, honestly I reinstalled Xiaomi services framework, Xiaomi services framework keeper and Xiaomi SIM activation services. As I thought uninstalling the framework breaks Mi music by showing on the rear screen to get controlled and I assume other hidden functionalities, I don't recommend then to debloat that since in terms of battery life it doesn't give much of juice. I do suggest getting to this point to start activating the battery saving options to save up more than this. For example yesterday over 12 hours overnight drain with the framework still active I had 97% battery and this morning without the framework I had over 8hours 99% so I don't think having the framework makes too much of a difference despite what it breaks and/or may break. I think also that it may affect MIUI optimizations and so the reactivity of the system, so I suggest you guys leaving those 3

I think I got almost a perfect status and balance between idle drain, debloating and phone functionality

First of all you must have your phone rooted and use the magisk module "debloat". I so far debloated these apps
    56172.jpg

Thanks to this my ROM became really light already, security app boost only register few apps in background and most of the time doesn't even register a 'your phone is now X% faster" .

This is the drainage so far. Phone disconnected from charging at 2pm or something

    Screenshot_2021-07-02-23-23-35-081_com.miui.securitycenter.jpg

I had a whatsapp video call for almost 20minutes (one of the most expensive battery draining anctivity) and few hours of idling

After debloating remember to go into app
    And force stop the following
    Google play services
    Carrier Services
    Xiaomi Services framework
    Xiaomi Services framework keeper
    Google play services keeper
    Google play store
    Xiaomi Sim activation service

Now clear their cache and data and reboot your phone

Now run terminal emulator and type

    su

    Then type

    cmd package bg-dexopt-job

Now wait for "success" to show this will optimize your apps

Now you can also go into battery and reatrict background activity for all the apps you want
Then you can disable into apps for the background data usage for all the apps you want

Then you can go further and go into privacy->special permission->battery optimization and optimize the apps and process you want
Then deactivate all the functionalities you don't use, like backups, find device etc.

Go into usage access and disable so for Google play services and other stuff like xiaomi services and miui

Go into privacy and security->authorization and revocation-> and stop the apps you want

And this is pretty much so, obviously for my type of usage

You can go further by reducing refresh rate to 90hz (check guides here) but I don't do so, or prefer lower data speeds such as lte/4g or even less (5g is pretty expensive but I don't do it)
Technical wise I don't disable or reduce these functionalities because it is the reason why I bought this phone so it wouldn't make sense but feel free to use these tricks as well if you want
